Granville and I make a New Year return to the ScoutCast studio, battered and bruised by the events of Gameweek 20 which saw us both inexplicably bench Harry Kane and his 18-point haul.

Having wasted our big differential and haunted by constant reminders, my co-host and I struggle to make a recovery. Spitting the pips from our sour grapes, we do our best to justify our doomed decision-making, before attempting to salve the wounds with talk of the Winter Wildcard refresh around the usual batch of regulars.

    I think my mind is finally made up except for these 3 moving pieces. Which do you prefer?

    A. Falcao + Chadli + (Boyd) + 0.7M to upgrade Falcao to Sturridge in a few weeks if necessary
    B. Giroud + DiMaria + (Boyd)
    C. Kane + DiMaria + (Chadli)

      Mane and JRod are injured, don't think JWP is nailed when everyone's fit and you don't want to use a FT on 5th mid. Clichy will be rotated with Kolarov.

    For those of us planning on WCing GW 23/after are you considerin Pelle? just 2 goals in the last 9 games but his fixtures have been poor.. 4 home games in 6 from GW 23 onwards with qpr away sandwiched inbetween! could be worth a punt at his reduced price of 7.9.. straight fight between him and Giroud for that 3rd spot upfront me thinks

      People seem to think Aguero will hit the ground running after his injury. That 12.3 price has me worried that I can’t make him fit. I’m on the WC should I grab him now?

        No but I'd make sure I had money in the bank to do a straight swap as you will want him in two gameweeks max and not good to have to spend two transfers let alone planning two transfers to fit him in so close to wildcarding.

      I think Ryan Shawcross is a Hummels and T.Silva Level player..just because he's not in a big club he's not that rated highly...

          yer thats the issue. prob save FT this week, and use 2 to get him in. prob drop Azpi as less goal threat than Terry but double Chelsea def is solid foundations IMO for rest of year.. hrm decsions!

                they are not a Chelsea type team who are scoring freely and for fun...neither they are in that form..goals can be expected from Eriksen, Kane, or Chadli..but who will score in what match is questionable...you have Kane..who is in great form so he is a must have right now..but the Eriksen after Chadli has comeback his overall stats have dropped..and he seems less likely to score from open play...I would suggest remove Eriksen and Kun from you team..keep that much cash so that next week you can bring in Kun...and find some alternative to Eriksen like Sterling maybe

        I think over 50% will but his ownership isn't as high as you would expect (about 36%).
        I will do it as i think he is a great option and next best i think is Sanchez/Costa.

          Yep, that's one of my ideas also. Would ideally like to raise enough cash to have the option of Silva & Austin -> Boyd & Kun next week, which this does. Don't feel over confident on Burnley defence though. Thinking Debuchy may be a decent option this week.

              Yep, 5.2m is the max I could go to for Zaba's replacement.

              Only thing swaying me away from Debuchy is the fixture next week - if I pulled the trigger on getting Kun then I'd have to start Hutton (LIV) and Wisdom (eve) which isn't great. This is fixable if not going the Kun route though. Something like Debuchy & Hart -> Adrian/Heaton & Baines or Debuchy & Austin -> Baines & Ings

        Good chance if not injured. Pot will like the idea of the side that beat Chelsea. Ok they leaked goals but were far more exciting going forward. Maybe a problem GW 27 if Chelsea and Spurs get to the final.
