How is this looking?
Pantilimon
Azpilicueta Jones Wisdom
Sterling Sanchez Hazard (v) Silva
Aguero (C) Giroud Kane
Bench: Fonte, Wollscheid, Lucas
I'm worried about having no Utd attackers but the points are very distributed among the attack and it's very dependent on whether LvG uses the 41212 or 352. Also, Di Maria lacks the goals to be worth 9.6M. Even at Madrid he lacked the goals. No need for UTD attackers.
Azpi not nailed on enough for my liking. Azpi > KosDid Koscielny>Azpi this week haha
The next 3 will be tough for Arsenal defensively
Want a couple of cleansheets from Azpi before GW27 hitsOnly 1 tough game. Lei and Palace not gonna be tough defensively, at least not on paper
I'd hold the transfer, good to go. Not a fan of ADM. Daley Blind looks better!
Gerrard to a) Silva, b) Sterling, c) Walters, d) another non Arsenal mid. Thanks.
A
Thanks, prob going with Silva. Think I'll load up on form players against dross like Hull, Villa.
Wildcard defense suggestion ?
Currently on Terry jones, bellerin, pva, wisdom. Have 1m more to spendSolid defence that.
how long is sanchez expected to be out for?
Just this GW.
We don't know that yet.
Should be back next week - for Spurs
Everybody is saying he will be back for Tottenham like it's a certainty, but in reality we don't know yet.
What do
A. ADM to Wally/Santi
B. HoldA to Santi
Or maybe a straight swap from Sterling?
Santi better imo.
I mean, Sterling or ADM to Santi? 🙂
Hold
Will wait for now probably. Ta.
Who to sell for Aguero?
Giroud, Austin or Kane?I went for Austin.
I have same choice. I'm thinking Austin
Austin
Cheers all. Tough decision.
Cheers.

Worth doing Cahill & Wasi ----> Zouma & Alderweireld for free?
Thinking long term, hopefully.Roo owners, whats the plan??
- Sanchez Is No Longer The Top Gunner
I just don't get the assumption that Sanchez is a given.
1. He's not fit. A Grade 1 Hamstring Strain is generally 1-3 weeks. With other options now available, Wenger may well be cautious with him.
2. He has benefited from being the key player at Arsenal. He no longer is. When Walcott, Ozil, Sanchez, Cazorla and Oxlade are all available there will be rotation. Arsenal have FA Cup and CL as well as PL. If anyone thinks Wenger will play the same team every week in the PL to suit FPL, well, dream on.
3. With Walcott and Ozil sharing his points and gametime when he is fit again he will be a more risky captain pick. He'll score points, sure. But not enough to justify a 11.4m price tag.
Sanchez at his current price is just not good value any more. People are far too swayed by points already scored. It's the points that will be accrue over the last 15 games that count now. Long term, Ozil or Walcott at 8.9 (with an extra 2.5 to invest elsewhere) are better choices. In the short term, Cazorla is the one to have. If nothing else Cazorla is the only one of the five that is currently 100% match fit.Interesting points. I was assuming I'd rush Sanchez back in at the first opportunity, but other priorities arise, and it's good to have reasons to focus on those instead and stick with Santi.
Go without then.
Ill have the armband on Sanchez vs Leicester.+1
I already have. Out on wildcard. No doubt about the decision whatsoever.
That didn't go so well then 😀
Come on, he is the best player in the league. Arsenal have a lot of good attacking mids who will score points but none as much as Alexis
this
Out of my team in last weeks wildcard with Cazorla and Giroud in thank you very much. Too much herd sentiment on this site that you need to all be wary of.
Yea, that's true Lanley..
Even though following the herd sentiment (not blindly though, but the herd's logic has more often coincided with mine, barring a few like this one) has benefited me in most occasions, but I am not following this one.Don't think it's herd sentiment. It's just the fact that the extent of the injury is unknown and losing him means not being able to get him back easily due to his price changes. That said if he's out for the Spurs game then it will obviously be a good move to have ditched!
The team without Sanchez has just thrashed Aston Villa 5-0 and just a mild reminder, that Villa is not a bad defensive unit either, which I think you'll also agree, and they never conceded more than thrice in the last 22 GWs.
So even if he is fit for the Spurs game Van, do you really think he will play anymore than 45 minutes ? I don't mate. ðŸ™
If Guzan had saved that pen like he should have because it was terrible this post would not have been made.
Nothing to do with it. I wrote a similar comment before the weekend. And I ditched Sanchez last week on wildcard.
Its a wait and see re the injury - but:
1) He is Arsenals best player - end of
2) He hates missing games and Wenger seems to let him make the decisions like the FA Cup game.
3) Others competing with him are prone to injury/not match fit either
If he cant make Leicester I may look at it - but not before...I am in absolute agreement with you Ruth.
Even if Sanchez plays all of the remaining 1350 minutes of the season, even then his points will be shared by the likes of Ozil and Cazorla (who seems to have been assigned all of Arsenal's dead ball duties, at least for the time being).
Bottom line for me is, even if I have to offload Cazorla (can't really say when, but lets say in 4-6 weeks, not before that surely), I'll be taking either of Giroud or Ozil (more inclined towards Ozil), but not Sanchez, and will invest the 2.5m elsewhere.
Ohh, thanks to FFS once more for strongly recommending Cazorla for the last two weeks, took him and gave him the armband this week. Glad to be a part of the community once again. 🙂Can't argue the logic, but one point worth making us this is a very risky strategy in FPL. Sanchez will be the standout captain option for Arsenal's upcoming home matches - he should have a very heavy ownership and if he has a big haul (which is not unlikely) then you are this score x2 behind a whole host of other players.
Blah, I just don't buy all this "risky strategy", "heavy ownership" stuff. If a lot of people are making a bad decision that's a good opportunity to gain ground on them. This game is about informing yourself, backing your own judgement and using your budget to gain the maximum points you can for your team. Not following the questionable decisions of others as a safety play.
The points of a player you leave out can't hurt you if the way you use the money delivers as many or more points. Same goes for captains. Of course Sanchez will accrue a fair few FPL points between now and the end of the season. But I don't believe it will be 11.4m worth. And he could just as easily disappoint people as captain when Walcott and Ozil score all the points that week as he could make them happy by delivering a haul.
Why didn't you post this on Saturday morning, I wonder...
So easy to be smart after the facts happen.Cazorla was due & Sanchez injured with other stalwarts like Ozil & Wally back ....it was obvious than smart
They did post something very similar to be fair.
> I just don't get the assumption that Sanchez is a given.
You have the attention span of a squirrel if you somehow feel this way...
> 1. He's not fit.
True, but as it stands we're being lead to believe this was just a one-week absence.
> 2. He has benefited from being the key player at Arsenal. He no longer is.... there will be rotation.
Sure, they'll be rotation in every team but, world class players who have a transfer fee of £35m & make £144k/wk don't tend to be the ones who sit out. (And, by this logic we couldn't choose any Gunner for fear of rotation now)
> 3. With Walcott and Ozil sharing his points and gametime when he is fit again he will be a more risky captain pick.
There is no such thing as sharing points... Coverage is a myth.
Mata & Hazard
Fabregas & Hazard
Walcott & Cazorla
Silva & Yaya
Rooney & RVP
Aguero & Tevez & Dzeko
Suarez & Sturridge
Sterling & Gerrard
Bale & RVD
I could go on, but I think I'd run out of room if I started to mix & match strikers & mids from the same team who crushed it as FPL players.
> People are far too swayed by points already scored
This could be my fave line of all... 🙄
People are swayed by Sanchez being one of the Top 3 players in the game this year.
If you're not a member, I'd be happy to share some of his underlying stats with you.
> Cazorla is the one to have. If nothing else Cazorla is the only one of the five that is currently 100% match fit.
You've just told us that we're to fear rotation in the Gunner's side though...
So, why are we going to grab the 4/5th best FPL player on the team now?
Ugh, woeful stuff mate. Just woeful...> You have the attention span of a squirrel if you somehow feel this way...
A pretty condescending comment I'd have said. I wonder why questioning Sanchez' importance would offend you so much.
> True, but as it stands we're being lead to believe this was just a one-week absence.
Nothing of the sort has been said. Wenger said he was "quite far away" from being available last weekend. A Grade 1 hamstring strain is typically 1-3 weeks.
> Sure, they'll be rotation in every team but, world class players who have a transfer fee of £35m & make £144k/wk don't tend to be the ones who sit out.
When a team is in the FA Cup, the CL (which Wenger is desperate to do better in) and the PL it has to look after its best players. Sanchez has already played 38 games this season (not including the World Cup) and Wenger has previously commented on him being "in the red zone". Up to now, Arsenal have had no realistic alternative but to play him. Now, having just won 5-0 without him, it appears they do.
> And, by this logic we couldn't choose any Gunner for fear of rotation now.
You are stretching my comments a very long way to get to this. My argument is that his status as "key player" has been lessened with the return of Giroud, Ozil and Walcott. And that therefore the parameters which allowed his exceptional FPL performance so far have changed. I don't see that, apart from scoffing, you have made any counter argument to that.
> There is no such thing as sharing points... Coverage is a myth.
If you are a key player, you play every game and pretty much everything goes through you that's one situation. If you one of a team of equally talented players who your teammates are equally likely to look for when passing the ball then your situation has changed. Nothing to do with Sanchez' worth as a player. Everything to do with his worth as a FPL point scorer.
> This could be my fave line of all... 🙄 People are swayed by Sanchez being one of the top 3 players in the game this year. If you're not a member, I'd be happy to share some of his underlying stats with you.
His underlying stats are irrelevant if the circumstances in which he achieved them have materially changed. Which is the whole crux of my argument. Rolling your eyes is a pretty teenaged response I'd have said. Try reasoning.
> You've just told us that we're to fear rotation in the Gunner's side though. So, why are we going to grab the 4/5th best FPL player on the team now?
The rotation argument is purely to do with a lessening of Sanchez' status and ability to justify a price tag of 11.4m. By saving 2.5m (Ozil) or 3.0m (Cazorla) maybe you could upgrade your 5th mid and have someone better to step in when necessary? The point is that if you are going to have 11.4m locked up in one player you'd want to be pretty sure he can deliver value for it. Offensive as it seems to be to you, I think it's quite valid to question that in this case.
As for Cazorla, in suggesting he is the best short-term option I pointed out that of the 5 attacking midfielders mentioned he is the only one that is currently 100% match fit. Which is an unarguable fact isn't it?Listen, I was going to prepare a long winded rebuttal but, I figured it'd be a waste of everyone's time.
Let's cut to the chase...
I contend that Sanchez won't somehow lose value becasue Arsenal now has better players alongside him.
Evidenced by this very long list of spectular FPL players, who played for the same team, at the same position & yet, still managed to finish tops at their respective positions:
Mata & Hazard
Fabregas & Hazard
Walcott & Cazorla
Silva & Yaya
Rooney & RVP
Aguero & Tevez & Dzeko
Suarez & Sturridge
Sterling & Gerrard
Bale & RDV
Following that, I'll wager $100USD that Sanchez plays in 85% of Arsenal's final league games.*
(*Exceptions: Injuries or an inconsequential final day match in which he's rested.)
Care to shake on that?
Man there are some scorching hot takes on this one... Sanchez has been good, he could continue to be good, or he could tail off some. The other arsenal options could eat some of his pie or just make the pie bigger. To say SANCHEZ OUT or SANCHEZ ESSENTIAL is just narrow minded and silly, we won't know for sure until a) we get the latest on his injury and b) we see how arsenal play when all their options are fit
Sánchez is top Gunner, the bookies have him as 60% more likely to score in the NLD than Cazorla if they both play, and if fit players are going to miss pitch time because of Arsenal's abundance of talent in that area it will be Cazorla who misses out more than Sánchez.
PS - 5 penalties scored in last nine EPL games, he's not going to keep up that rate of taking penalties, or that 100% conversion record with penalties like the last one.
Cazorla hasn't scored in a game that he's not taken a penalty in since... well I don't know, but at least last season!
What midweek matches, etc.?
Man Utd, Sunderland and Liverpool have cup replays
Ah - good man, Karl. Thanks!
Liverpool v Bolton I believe
Ta!
Heskey to beat Liverpool.
😀
Hmm Cazorla's steady rise coupled with Alexis' simultaneous absence...the fpl gods are a strange bunch
I am so god damn gutted with Bertrand. Should I swap him for Azpilcueta with my FT?
Nope, only Chelsea Defenders I'd get are Terry or Ivanovic.
Got him in last week. Quite close to get two CS, but instead he got me a grand total of 1 point and a three match suspension. At least I got a double rise out of him. Now what to do? I've got triple Chelsea and Arsenal, and my other defenders are Terry, Clyne, PVA (benched this week for Terry) and Hutton.
Which teams rotate with Sunderland and Villa?
My new master plan for no-world domination, 3 transfers for a -4 (have 2 FTs in bank):
Baines > Moreno
Bertrand > Bellerin
Boyd > Cazorla
Hold Chadli
I then have 5 decent mids in case Sanchez doesn't play next gw.
Panti, Heaton
Baines (> Moreno), Bertrand (> Bellerin), Terry, PvA, Baird
Hazard, Silva, Sanchez, Chadli, Boyd (> Cazorla)
Austin, Kane, Aguero
0.9 (> 0.5) itbI'd rather do Berty + Chadli to Bellerin + Cazorla if you can afford it.
Thanks. I can afford your idea, which was my original idea, but am thinking that with Sanchez's uncertainty, and blank gw27, it would be good to have 5 strong mids, but I guess I have time for that, and do not need to lose Baines (yet) and take a -4 hit. Thank you.
How many are getting Bellerin?
the cool kids already have him 😉
😎
😎 😎
o/
Oh, and I guess I am uncool...
Uncool people are never modest enough to say they are uncool
Can't at the mo, already have 3 Arsenal.
He went from 0.7% to 0.9% ownership since the match....
To fund KUN, wh do I drop from power 5?
Sanchez Santi Eriksen Silva Hazard
(Have Gru and Kane)Eriksen from those.

1) Clyne
2) Azpi
3) ?
Have $6.1 to spend. Thanks.Ars cheapie.. The B guy
Bellerin
I'm thinking of Azpi.
Quite surprised people think bertrand has any chance with sn appeal
1) only tackles that aren't even fouls are overturned. if you think it's a yellow and the ref gave it red, it will stay. Obviously it was a foul
2) it was a bloody awful tackle anywaycould be classed as frivolous to get an extra game too
It wont be overturned.
The analysis on Sky was quite good in highlighting that he looks for the defender and seems to slow down, not to 'do' him but maybe to take ball and man.
By the letter a red can be given for it surely.
Think i'll hold fire on my Bertrand transfer decision.
I make no good decisions fast.
The longer i stew them over the less bad they get.Certainly should hold fire, the brain makes better decisions than the knee.
Have you the same decision?
Indeed I do, current Idea is Pelle and Betrand to Defoe and Ivanovic for a hit but I'll look at the data when my knee has calmed down.
Not tempted by Zouma?
Chadli to which Spaniard. Silva Cazorla or Fabregas ?
Hazard ADM Sanchez _____ (boyd)
Aguero Giroud KaneCazorla offers the best value imo
I went with Walcott, not sure if that helps.
Hmm... I would gladly play all 15 of my team next week, I see bench points and regrets coming.
Rule 1
Don't bench Kane (I just did :-()
