Charlie Austin is back for QPR’s trip to Hull. Hector Bellerin requires a late fitness test as Arsenal head to Palace, Remy Cabella is likely to miss out for Newcastle’s visit to City, while Gabriel Agbonlahor and Carles Gil are available for Villa’s first match under Tim Sherwood.

Chris Ramsey has confirmed that Charlie Austin is “back in contention” for QPR ahead of the trip to Hull, after returning to training following injury. Sandro is still in the “conditioning phase” and therefore still available, while Ramsey also rules out Mauricio Isla through injury.

Remy Cabella is “almost certainly” out of Newcastle’s trip to City with a medial ligament strain picked up in training. Elsewhere, the Magpies have revealed that Paul Dummett doesn’t require an operation but will be sidelined for up to 12 weeks with a knee injury.

Victor Anichebe (groin) is Tony Pulis’ only injury concern as the Baggies prepare for the trip to Sunderland. They could also be boosted by the availability of Youssouf Mulumbu who is back in training, though remains short of full fitness.

Aston Villa have confirmed that Gabriel Agbonlahor and Carles Gil are both back in training and available, having missed the cup win over Leicester through injury. Tim Sherwood could be without Nathan Baker and Philippe Senderos, though, as the pair remain injury doubts for the visit of Stoke.

Alan Pardew is sweating on the fitness of James McArthur, with the midfielder rated as “touch and go” for the meeting again Arsenal. Meanwhile, Pardew believes Yannick Bolasie should be “okay” for the weekend having made a return to training. Jonny Williams meanwhile, has suffered a setback with a groin injury in training and will be monitored over the coming days.

In his Friday morning press conference, Arsene Wenger has revealed that Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain in back in full training but is short of fitness, whilst Aaron Ramsey is expected back in ten days. Hector Bellerin is set for a fitness test later today, though Jack Wilshere is set to return to the squad after recovering from injury. Wenger gave no further update on Mathieu Flamini, who was regarded as a doubt yesterday due to a hamstring problem.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has received a welcome boost with Stephen Ward making a quicker than expected return from injury. The defender is set to go into the Clarets squad for the Stamford Bridge test. There is also positive news on Matty Taylor, with Dyche revealing that the winger is making good progress from a troublesome Achilles problem.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream as breaking news unfolds.

Just looking at my Wisdom replacement options (presume he is out of favour now?)

Have Terry - PVA - Koscielny - Jones

Stoke fixtures are good, but their defence is injury striken. Wollsheid still a good shout?

      Ditto me.

Currently have Terry - Bellerin - Clyne - Wasiliewski - Wisdom

Need a replacement for Wasi or Wisdo.

Ouch. Only 2 Defs if Bellerin fails fitness test.

PVA or Moreno if you have £

Oops. I looked at the season ticker and read Man City fixtures on the line below. LIV fixtures aren't good.

Makes me want a City defender.

I'm in the same position (with the same defence bar Bertrand for Kos), and I think Wollscheid is probably still the best bet (I'll probably get Rose for the DGW).

This question is going to be asked a million times with the same answers. Dawson if you want to stay with wba, or wollsheid if you want a defender who concedes. Or Haidara

Really - who wants a defender who concedes?

Which cheap defender is going to get the most points between now and the end of the season?

That's the only answer we need to solve this conundrum.

WBA worry me. I had Foster and Wisdom from GW1 and when i WC'd in Jan I took out Foster and almost brought in Baird. Cant decide if they are value or not.

Lose Chadli and at least 1 of Wisdom and Mike Wazowski.

Get a mid in as a placeholder for a GW28 transfer to Eriksen imo.

The defenders are a bit of a pain as most of the cheapies have crap fixtures this week, Haidara etc, although perhaps CDawson or PVA?

thanks Billy, appreciate your help. I agree with the get rid of Chadli and Wisdom plan, those were my thoughts before I asked the question. but now with the blank and dgw in mind, should i be preparing more for the next few weeks?

Yeah. I think benching Terry, Hazard and Kane is wise, making sure your other players are playing so you get XI out. Then bring in 1/2 other TOT/Austin in GW28

Depends how qpr play this week. They are less attacking now I think but if he gets 7 chances a home game like he did under 'arry then I'd get him

Fantasy Football Scout daily hot topic

    Double gameweek memories

With the dgwk fast approaching I thought I'd start a thread on favourite double gameweek memories.

Here are two of mine to get the ball rolling.

Wayne Rooney's 32 pts (64 pts for those that captained him) during the 2010 season.

And of course Sessegnon's 93rd minute strike to save his many captainers.

Taking a 4 point hit and bringing in Zigic for his 1pt over the two games 🙂 I also vaguely remember MPetrov, Dempsey and TCahill running riot. Not too sure on specifics though

Last year's dgw was rubbish for me. Most teams had the dgw players anyway like Suarez so I didn't get much out of it.
So I wildcarded gw 3 this year.

      Berbatov's 58 pointer in the 2010-11 season.

BAE and Walker in Spurs' dgws the season after.

Buying Yaya for the first time last season when he scored 31. Captaining Suarez for 50 points in the same week.

Happy memories that make up for all the baaaaaad weeks.

Papiss Cisse(c) at Stamford Bridge. After Newcastle got thumped 4-0 at home to Wigan in the first game.

That DGW was immense, bought Walker and Terry that week and they both scored, with Walker suddenly taking up some free kick duties. The Jelavic/Pienaar goal/assist combos were good too.

I found something about him training all week so I'm hopeful. Not wasting a transfer on a defender this week so Trippier will have to be backup.

Am I being too optimistic that Hughes would rather play a guy with a hernia issue than Andy Wilkinson? 🙂

    Hey guys! How's it going?

I need a defender for Wisdom. My original plan was Bellerin, but the fitness test makes me a bit doubtful... at the same time I don't need him this week as I can play Clyne (LIV) instead. Thoughts? Stick with my original plan and get Bellerin, or look elsewhere?

I want to spend as little as possible to be honest... but I need someone who plays next week. I've currently got

I need to cut some costs in midfield this weekend in order to have the cash I need available to set up the DGW as I would wish. ADM, Silva or Sterling needs to become Walters (assuming fit). Sterling seems the logical one to me. What do you think?

Already used my FT for Wisdom > Dawson and have 3.5 in the bank. Feel like i not only need to get a team ready for this weekend but its also not very ready for GW 27 blanks.

Any help would be very appreciated!

What to do with this, 2ft, 0.8 ITB.

    Foster (Panti)
    Wollscheid Bellerin PVA (Fonte Wisdom)
    Sanchez Haz Fab Cazorla Moses
    Aguero Kane (Defoe)

Thinking Wisdom > Lescott and start him over PVA (or maybe start all?)

Waiting on news on Defoe but thinking of shipping him for Ideye.

    Thoughts, suggestions please.

    Which one instead of Wisdom?

    A) Craig Dawson (sun, SOU)

    B) Alan Hutton (would call him for help again 😆 ) (STK, new)

    C) Wollsheid (avl, HUL) (but a lot of injuries there)?

Need good one for GW 27 as my defenders for that GW are Fonte (wba), PJones* (SUN) and PVA (mun).

GW 27 is the key, and for that fixture you got to go with Wollscheid. I really like Dawson though for his past goalscoring record but then again, is he really nailed long-term anyways? Plus Hutton plays for a team which is.. well.. certainly not a team you want to have players in on current form.
