Our pre-deadline trio of overlooked alternatives arrives once again this morning. We’ve backing a couple of cut-price strikers to continue their recent fine showings, whilst the return of a certain Ivorian looks key to City’s title tilt.

Dame N’Doye

Having learned his trade at a plethora of clubs across continental Europe, Hull’s £3 million January signing Dame N’Doye is an unknown proposition on these shores. Early indications are that the former Lokomotiv Moscow striker could reinvigorate the Tigers’ faltering attack, though – handed a role alongside Nikica Jelavic as Steve Bruce switched to a two-man frontline, he notched a goal and an assist on his first start in a vital 2-0 win over Swansea last time out.

N’Doye boasts international pedigree, with six goals in 26 outings for Senegal, and recently turned out for the Lions of Teranga in the African Cup of Nations. With no top nine teams on the horizon for Hull (QPR, sto, SUN, lei) and Queens Park Rangers’ generous defence next on the agenda, the 5.5-priced frontman looks well placed to take advantage before the schedule turns nasty around Gameweek 30.

Yaya Toure

One win and five draws in seven matches without Yaya Toure on board illuminates just how integral he is to the Sky Blues’ chances of securing back-to-back Premier League crowns. Before he was called up for international duty at the African Cup of Nations (ACoN), Toure had netted six goals in his previous eight starts, as City sat level with Chelsea on points at the head of the table – in his five-match absence, the champions have slipped seven points adrift of Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea.

Priced at 10.7, Toure represents a significant outlay for any Fantasy manager searching for differential potential in Gameweek 26, yet a favourable run of fixtures (NEW, liv, LEI, bur, WBA, cry) leading up to the Manchester derby in Gameweek 32 make him a viable long-term investment. City’s immediate match-up – a Newcastle outfit that are down to their last four senior defenders following Paul Dummett’s knee injury – could serve as the perfect platform for Toure to announce his return in style, as Manuel Pellegrini looks to go on the offensive to boost his side’s chances of clawing back the Blues’ lead.

Brown Ideye

With four goals in his last three outings in all competitions, West Brom’s record signing is finally starting to justify the hefty outlay splashed out last summer. A peripheral figure under previous boss Alan Irvine, Ideye has been one of the main beneficiaries from Tony Pulis’ installation at the Hawthorns helm and, along with strike partner Saido Berahino, is starting to look a viable option in the budget bracket.

Priced at just 5.6 in the FPL game, Ideye bagged a brace in the Baggies’ 4-0 FA Cup victory over West Ham last weekend but with Berahino owned by over 13% of FPL managers, the Nigerian has been mainly ignored and sits in less than 1% of sides by comparison. With six favourable fixtures (sun, avl, STO, QPR, LEI, cpl) in the next eight allied with a security of starts that has boosted his self-belief, Ideye suddenly looks a key figure in ensuring the Baggies clinch survival.

    Arsenal score 5 past Villa: Triple Arsenal needed.
    Arsenal don't score lots the following week: Triple Arsenal is overkill.
    Villa appoint Sherwood and beat Leicester in the cup: Villa are worthy of investment (Hutton, Gil, Benteke).

    How about Villa are crap? The group think in some quarters here is shocking.

          I agree the herd mentality is annoying but I reckon Tekkers could be an option again soon. Sometimes all it takes is a new manager's backing.

            2012-13 23 goals in 39 games
            2013-14 11 goals in 28 games
            2014-15 3 goals in 19 games

            Villa have good fixtures coming up and if Sherwood can get Benteke firing again (same as he did with Adebayor) he could easily get on a scoring run.

              Fair enough. If Hull's defence has tightened up it could work out. If you currently only have two from Chelsea, Spurs, Leicester and QPR combined, Yun could be an option that you could roll out for the double.

    DGW planning - which of these routes do you prefer?

    (A)
    GW26: Oscar -> Eriksen
    GW27: Terry -> Aldy
    GW28: Colo & Ayoze -> Rose & Austin

    (B)
    GW26: Terry -> Aldy (starting Bellerin)
    GW27: Oscar -> Eriksen
    GW28: Colo & Ayoze -> Rose & Austin

    (C)
    GW26: Colo -> Haidara
    GW27: Terry -> Berty
    GW28: Myhill/Haidara & Oscar -> Lloris/Vert & Eriksen

    A & B loses a CHE player this week but gets 4 DGWers whereas C keeps 3 CHE this week but only gets 3 DGWers (would mean starting Santi over Austin in GW28).

    Starting to think C is best given the better 3rd TOT DGWer and CHE's fixture this week...

    Foster
    Terry, Clichy, PVA
    Sanchez, Hazard, Silva, Oscar, Santi
    Aguero, Kane

    Myhill, Bellerin, Ayoze, Colo
    Bank 0.2m, 2FT, 1WC

    What are the options?

    A)Save 1FT and do 1/2 boring defensive transfers next week to ensure playing 11?

    B) Or be proactive and do Defoe to Ideye?

            Its not about the triple, its about the player as an option. I look at the three players you listed and I see one that who I consider to not be as good of an option (Giroud), one that is too expensive for my side (Sturridge) and one who happily has a place in my side (Kane)

    Evening fellas - good to go?

    Panti
    Terry - Fonte - Bellerin
    Haz (VC) - Sanchez - Caz - ADM
    Kun - Kane (C) - Defoe

    Bench: Moses - Jones - Haidara
    1 FT, 0.1 in the bank

    Used one of my FTs to do Baird - Haidara earlier today, now meaning I have 11 next week. If Defoe doesn't play, in comes Moses, if bellerin doesn't play, in comes jones.

    All good?

          Probably better asking a pool supporter, but I don't think he's particularly nailed. Once Lucas + Gerrard return I'd imagine he'd be benched.

            Has nothing to do with Lucas and Stevie. Ibe is playing at wingback and his only competition right now is Markovic if the system remains the same, which is likely due to how successful it's been. But since Lazar has a Europa ban right now, he may start the league games with Ibe taking the European matches. That would be my guess anyways, but in the form Ibe is in I wouldn't rule him out starting most PL matches.
