Sterling to Mata?
Mata
so thats a yes?
Yes
I would keep Sterling. He should be moving back to CAM with Jordon Ibe coming back. Lallana was poor today. I can see even Markovic getting his place back.
Or Ibe too, forgot about him. Still, the question marks surrounding his position is enough to put me off him for the time being. I'd rather have Coutinho or Henderson full stop over Sterling also if looking at Liverpool mids.
Liverpool aren't the same free-scoring side from last season too.
Luisito where art thou.
Scoring for Barca!
I thought Lallana did okay, his shot wasn't far off and if it went in they'd be making a statue of him.
I thought he was dreadful.
I'd rather have Mata at this point. Unless he drops Lallana and starts playing Markovic Sterling is not a good FPL pick.
Fixed it so it's less confusing.
I'm struggling on deciding what front seven to work towards. So far I have come up with:
Eriksen Sterling Hazard Silva
Aguero Costa Kane
This is taking in consideration Arsenal's upcoming blank.
Sterling is Liverpool cover instead of Sturridge.
What do you guys think? I'm not comfortable letting Aguero go with those home fixtures.I'm holding Aguero too. I'm in that camp. Anyway, it looks good, but Sterling - as I mentioned above - is not someone I would be targeting.
Who would come out for Sturridge though? And in for sterling?
Ignore me. Still confused. My fault
Oh sorry. I mean I'm avoiding Sturridge as a third striker and getting Sterling instead of cover those good Liverpool fixtures coming up.
If Costa was fit I'd be selling Aguero but that slight injury has made me wait till the end of the internationals at least. Might just hang onto Aguero for another week. Again
Do you know the situation with the yellow cards for Matic, Costa and Fabregas? Can they still get banned?
Costa has 2 games left to avoid getting 2 yellows. I'd say he's safe. The other players are irrelevant for FPL imo
He's now something like 8 games without a yellow in the prem. Probably should have had 2 today though...
I guess that would be for trying to escape from a half Nelson and for the slightest movement of his foot which wouldn't have hurt a fly.
You really are scraping the barrel.
How about commenting on Gerrard and Skrtel? No? Not populist enough?Wow, Ruth - touchy!
I don't think you're going to find Andy85 defending Gerrard and Skrtel. 😀Love you Ruth! xxx
Did a West Brom coach breakdown yesterday? Empty away end
Red card ruined everything
Agreed.
Still more full than the home end..
I was waiting for that comment 🙂
Guzan
Bertrand Terry Koscielny
Cazorla Eriksen Hazard Silva
Aguero Giroud Kane
Subs: Hamer Rose Boyd Bruce
2ft, 0,2m itb.
What to do? Maybe not anything??I'd be getting rid of Cazorla. You need to use at least 1 of your 2FT's
Kos Caz and Rose are all players I'd probably look to move out. Maybe get Toby in.
Lose Kos for Arsenal's blank in GW 33
I forget how good an FPL option Mata was at Chelski..
17 goals and 34 assists in 2 seasons with 3 managersThe problem with Mata is mainly van gaal he's clueless and mata could get dropped next week
Everyone shipping Kun?
Not me.
I was hoping he might be a differential (c) this week
He certainly would be if you have the big swinging balls to put it on him. Captaining a player so out of form is not how I normally like to roll, though 😀
Maybe he will come back from international on a high
I'm not sure it's fair to say he's out of form. More like he's being played out of position. A bit like Rooney was (but not so deep as that).
He's not scoring goals but seems to be maintaining similar underlying stats. I'm putting form to equal goals in this case.
He's bang out of form. What are you on about?
Something about my comment you can't understand? I'd have thought it was quite clear.
The fact that you've been slating Aguero ad nauseum and just yesterday were bemoaning the fact you sold Rooney instead of him last week?
*ding ding ding* round one..fight!
He's a good egg actually. Just needs to learn to not be so reactionary with his opinions.
😆
Reactionary isn't the word you're looking for
How so?
It means deeply conservative, rightist. I was assuming you meant reactive
I guess in academic settings it does. Not what I was taught coming up.
i'm one of those who's misused this word-along with a thousand other malapropisms- but i wud do so again. seeing as how practically everything is a reaction to something, i feel that reactive doesn't quite have the force required to define a person or thing acting solely in response to outside stimuli. reactionary sounds miles better and, as someone with no compunction in shaping language to fit meaning, i am glad that its definition is becoming diluted
Exactly.
I haven't been slating Aguero. I have been commenting on how 4-2-2-2 is hurting him. Which is to say that he is being played deeper behind Bony/Dzeko and it doesn't suit him.
I don't think it's right to say a player is out of form when he's being played out of position. Rooney played quite well in midfield for United. But he couldn't deliver 10.5m striker FPL points from there.
Aguero is the same case as far as I am concerned. But not one I will take a hit to change.I agree that it's hurting him but you can't deny he's been missing chances he would normally bury. And being far less patient in general. So yes, out of form.
I'm keeping for now hatrick next GW and plays GW33 and people will rush to get him back
appropriate username!
Considering it.
But then I do have a wc to undo all my blunders. He has decent fixtures and can still get a goal or two even though 4-2-2-2 is hurting him.
I'd have removed him by now if I had a spare FT but I don't. And taking a hit to remove him ahead of a good fixture makes no sense to me.Yep same story as towards the end of last season when Dzeko was getting points by the truckload and Aguero was the bridesmade. He isn't likely to pull his price, but at the moment with our team values elevated he seems worth carrying for the time being as it will be easy enough to fit Costa in alongside him for the double. Will probably even keep until GW37 when he moves on for Sturridge assuming they have a double at that time. They still have the fixtures as you mention and he will still have the pens. But when City aren't switching back and forth between the 4222 and 4231 where he is boss he's just not worth the price.
Sorry, I haven't been on in a while.
What's with the 42s?Doosra is ill. Its a sign of support by utilising his favourite number
Doosra is ill in hospital so it's support for him to get well.
Basically people agree but doing it in doorsa honor
Thanks all.
That's been weeks, hasn't it?
I hope things improve.Yes no update recently but hope he gets through it, this site will go mad when he posts again!
Prob the first time ever a post will be hulked just for saying hello 😆
no Azpilicueta no CS for Chelsea!!!
Zouma* 😉
Sanchez & Aguero owners....are you sticking with or dumping???
24m combined isn't good enough for players who are scoring the same as my bench fodder.Dumped Sanchez a long time ago. Very close to dumping Aguero but will wait till the end of the international break before making a decision
Sold Sanchez this week. Will hold Aguero a bit longer.
Holding Aguero as there's no one I really want to replace him with. Decent fixture, great player and man city are still scoring well, plus he's on pens.
A lot of the holding him is hoping he comes good but until Girouds blank is done there is no one I would replace him with right now. Plus I want to make other more important transfers.
Probably keeping Aguero for the rest of the year. Still is on penalties and plays for the most attacking side.
I'm not so sure about Mata myself. If AdM starts and/or RvP gets back and goes straight back in the team we'll suffer as a team.
If we keep this formation Di Maria is likely to be competing with young not mata.
RVP coming back would spell bad news for Herrera/Fellaini before mata imoOf course but I'm say the team will suffer as in our attack will suffer.
*saying
Oh my bad. Might be right there. I'd like Rooney to continue up top
Yup. And Young deserves his spot in the team just as AdM deserves his spot on the bench.
I think the mata bandwagon is strange but people know their team and looking to gain ground GL to them but not for me ATM
If we knew that the teamsheet and system would remain the same I'd be all over it as well. But alas that is not the case.
Listening to LVG's post match comments it sounds as if he'll be playing the 4-3-3 for the foreseeable future and that Mata is nailed on for as long as he is playing well. Van Gaal is talking about having "found the right position" for Mata.
If I had a spare FT he'd be coming into my team immediately. As it is that will have to wait till I wildcard. That doesn't address my point at all though does it.
I thought it did. Maybe you meant something different?
Apparently I didn't word it very well. I didn't mean they're a threat to Mata's position but rather that they're a threat to our overall attacking play.
Yes, I agree with that. RVP shouldn't get anywhere near that team. ADM - well a 4-3-3 really suits him, that's where he played so exceptionally for RM. But at the moment United are better with him coming off the bench I'd say. Young gives much more energy.
I can see spending an embarrassing amount of time over the next two weeks daydreaming and thinking about to Mata or not to Mata.
Its a mata of deliberation
Juan to ponder for sure.
I'm not so sure. I think ADM will play better on the LW as he'll have more licence to be a free spirit without it adversely affecting the filoshofee. RVP might not be all bad as a lone striker, it was his combination with Falcao which cause us so much trouble.
I hope you're right about RvP. But suffice to say I'm not so optimistic. AdM on the other hand killed every attack today aside from his assist running with the ball like a chicken with its head cut off before inevitably losing it or giving it away with a daft pass. He's poison for the filoshofee.
At least the poison will be lessoned out on the LW. I think LVG will stick with the starting lineup against Villa though. If it aint broke, don't fix it
Was encouraged to see him do so today.
I can't see him shifting. He is quite pragmatic usually once he gets established at a club.
Cleverest thing he has done is converting Valencia to RB. Whether by luck or judgement. He was never good enough to play as a winger for an elite team. But as a RB he seems to fit in perfectly.SAF first got him to become a RB
OK. I thought it was mainly Rafael under Ferguson.
Rafael and Jones were injured a lot. Valencia started playing more and more at RB as a result
Ospina Panti
Rose Toby Terry Wolly Dawson
Silva Eriksen Sterling Hazard Boyd
Kun Kane Giroud
Save FT or get rid of Rose or Sterling? 0.3ITBSterling to Hendo/Coutinho I think.
Team if fine, you have no GK GW33 may look at that
International break now.
Post your preferred lineup for your national team.
Hart
Clyne Smalling Jones Baines
Henderson Carrick
Studge Rooney Sterling
Kane'For your national team'
India? 😥🙁 You can do whichever NT you want 😉
I'd do England's. But don't think there's any need to. You've nailed it I think.
🙂 Ta, more hopeful for attackers than realistic
Hart
Clyne Stones Cahill Bertrand
Henderson Carrick
Walcott Rooney Young
KaneYoung probably stopped by Welbeck as hardworking right footer on left, but good side
Altidore
Altidore Altidore Altidore Altidore
Altidore Altidore
Altidore Altidore Altidore
AltidoreNoice, as long as ye aren't playing in the north east of England
😀
I wish I cared.
So do I 🙁
I fully agree with your lineup. Henderson and Carrick would be solid back there.
Yeah, I'm sure we'll get Delph and Milner there instead
Wee Gordons doing a grand job, I'll just leave it to him. 😉
Probably for the best 😉
Ryan
Franjic Sainsbury Spiranovic Davidson
Jedinak Milligan
Luongo
Kruse Cahill LeckieCool, thought Cahill had retired after Asian Cup
Need a Forster replacement for the rest of the season.
Looking at K.Davies or Adrian, anyone else got any recommendations?wait until more news before making the transfer JK
Fabianski.
Arsenal and Chelsea in the last 3 though. Something's not right.
Mignolet or Fabianski beside those two 😉
People mentioned Doorsa tonight, FPL seems so irrelevant with the news of a popular poster
Get well soon Doorsa! Some people think FPL is a matter of life and death.
I can assure you it is much more important than that. 😉+42
I've never had much direct interraction with him on here, but his impact is felt far beyond his posts.
As always, we need someone to shake up the template. It's Doosra, like the cricket delivery. He would approve of my pedantry.
Man U cost me $5000 this week on a 9 leg multi, shattered!
Still, (c) Kane though...You cost you. You underestimated the filoshofee
It's not even the LvG philosophy. He gave up on it!
Yeah counter attack at the end was a bit weird. But then again when you're winning its not a bad tactic
Who to ditch first, Zouma or Bellerin?
Bellerin
Think I'd have to say Bellerin. Liverpool next, blank soon. Debuchy potentially returning soon enough?
And Zouma is about to play in Matic's role for STO and qpr.
Nah he won't. I think it's Cahill who's dropping out against Stoke. Didn't really have a very good game. The whole defense looked shaky and off pace.
Who is going to play DFM then? Mikel is still injured, right?
Why wont Matic play?
I thought he'd hit 10 YC coz of cup games but it seems he's only on 9. Apols
No worries. COuld still happen next GW so right?
It could. Or the one after - he's got some leeway after April 14
Thanks for the input guys.....sounds like Bellerin might be the priority
IM in the same boat. think Im ditching ZOuma to free up that chelsea spot for the DGW
I still have my WC so am thinking more immediate term at the moment
Fair enough. then I agree with the others. Bellerin out
What happened to Barkley? Had a 60M pricetag on him not too long ago.
Massively overrated in the first place
'next rooney'
Got hyped up for scoring screamers, was never going to keep that up.
Everton overperformed last season (got lucky) and he was a major "culprit" along with Howard
Created 1 chance a game which is below average for a number 10
@ Ryan,
Confident of beating South Africa?50/50 Anything could happen
We'll need to be at our best thats for sure
Straight to the point!
I'm confident that if we are at our best we'll win
Who's gonna come in for Milne? McLenaghan looked awful last time out
ME
Mclenaghan is the natural replacement. However I think it should be Mills. His experience will be invaluable in such a massive encounter. We need a cool head.
Southee as the senior bowler is too much of a risk, he got spanked by the West Indies. I think it makes too much sense to bring in Mills, it has to be him.
Unsure how to attack the qpr and villa dgw.
2fts could get me benteke & guzan (already have Austin), but I'm not covinced that it is worth it.
Anything worth looking at in the villa midfield?I have Austin already & I'm avoiding everyone else!
Early days but who should I get to replace Forster?
1) 5.2M Fabianski
2) 5.2M Mignolet (7/10 cleansheets for Liverpool in the last 10)
3) 4.0M Myhill
4) 4.4M K. Davis
Got Lescott, Clyne, Zouma, Wilson and Bertrand in my defence.K. davis with that killer southampton defense in front. Myhill made my totw though
https://theculturedleftfooter.wordpress.com/2015/03/22/team-of-the-week-gameweek-30/I'd give LvG manager of the week. He's been fantastic against the top 5 sides.
Triforce
It was a tough choice-Pellegrini, LVG , Monk-there was not much difference between the three
both pellegrini and lvg are under immense pressure, pellegrini got the head up for sticking to his system and getting result.
Who is your other keeper?
Myhill looks like a decent option, but only for the next three gws, as you would expect Foster to start once he is fit.Jakupovic
If you're not afraid of the Southampton triple, then Davis will be good value. In for a penny, in for a pound.
The Forster injury really did look like a season-ender. Has there been any more of a prognosis?I thought he'd been confirmed out for the season?
Foster's out for the season so he won't be a threat of coming back in GW33 - but West Brom's fixtures are poor from GW34 on regardless.
I thought Foster was only out 4 weeks? Shows how out-of-the-loop I am.
At least with Foster and Forster (most likely) out for the year, there won't be any more unfortunate typos and misunderstandings in any RMTs...The longer absence was confirmed by WBA last night.
Myhill
How is Chadli playing in recent games? Is he nailed on ?
Well I wouldn't bring him in
Not that good. 17 points from last 8 games, mane better
Have - Panti and Heaton
Myhill best Heaton replacement till I WC in GW34? Getting Guzan would give me double blank in GW33.Any ideas on what to do with this side? 2 FTs &;0.3m itb..
Panti Krul
Terry Bertrand PVA Wollscheid Bruce
Sanchez Eriksen Hazard Silva Boyd
Aguero Kane Austin
Wollscheid out maybe? I'm going to the Ars/Liv game so reluctant to lose Sanchez until his blank which will allow the Austin -> Costa trade..Wolly Boyd to Hutton Sinclair?
Can't afford it and not sure I'd want my team to go that direction 2b honest. I would like a punt on Sinclair though but no one obvious to replace!
Anyone watch the Southampton game? Was Mane attacking or playing notable deeper with Pele on the pitch? My punt on bringing him in as a differential this week did not work out..
It certainly puts me off bringing him in. He can't be a second striker if there are 2 on the pitch
He did so well last week so it was very surprising and disappointing to se Pele back in the lineup. Not sure how he did though..
Royal5
attacking but often forced to the leftThanks
Didn't see game but from stats, Pelle hogged shots and Mane's did not increase on his average no. of chances created per game.
Assume it was to have an extra striker against defensive team like Burnley, so I also assume Mane will go back to 2nd striker next matchThanks. Fingers crossed he moves further up against Everton.
I have Aguero, Giroud and Kane. I captained Aguero but still scored 92 points. If I'd have captained Kane... But 92 points? I'm not complaining!
Hard luck. What might have been
I've checked on my Aguero captaincy. 12 occasions for 90pts @ 3.75 av score per game. 🙁
If there are no injuries during the international break, save FT?
Krull, Pantsy
Ivan, Azpi, Clyne, Schlupp, Naughty
Sanchez, Haz, Eriksen, Sinclair, Boyd
Kun, Kane, Austin
1 FT and 1.3m itbAustins away record since the turn of the year..
8, 9, 5, 2.
Many here captaining him? He's not as good playing alongside Zamora
Admittedly haven't watched them since January, but he used to play better with Zamora. Manager effect?
A number of reasons. QPR and Austin aren't what they used to be
Austin's average points over last 5 matches his seasonal rate.
Maybe I'm just talking about QPR in that case
Really? I don't agree with that assessment. Granted I didn't watch the game today, but I always felt he was by far at his best playing off Zamora. He always lays it off to him superbly with their deep balls always seemed to be at the heart of any chances Austin got during open play since they are utterly incapable of building up an attack through midfield. Whenever I see them without Zamora and no target man for long balls they just look lost and like complete crap going forward.
Put it this way. I'd rather have Zamora right now at 4.1m
Hmpf
Atm yes.
I have him, but the armband is currently on Kane... I don't know if it will stay there.
I see Barkley is suffering from second season syndrome. So overrated
But it is unusual to suffer that in your 4th season! 😉
(I know, he hardly played first 2 seasons but couldn't resist)Meh, nit picking. Martinez thought he was worth 50m. Should have sold him when he had the chance. There was a reason Moyes hardly used him
He's English, almost sure to be overrated.
A shame. Seemed to never get into the manager's good graces after the World Cup. I wonder if there wasn't more behind the scenes about him this season that we didn't learn about like some nagging injury or some such thing. He never really got a decent string of starts all year to build up match fitness and get into a rhythm.
Clyne, Fonte and Bertrand combined to get 29 points this weekend.
Triple Southampton is risky but they are good value for those who cannot afford the likes of Ivanovic and Terry.
Thinking of getting K. Davis to add to Clyne/Bertrand.Just wondering.. Has anyone ever had all 11 dream team players (for the week)?
Only in my dreams.
Doubt it, doesn't follow team no. rules and picks cheapest players when a draw so some quite rare selections. Of course, next week might be the week 🙂
