Dean Ashton’s brace against Wigan today may have made him a top fantasy target but caution is required before drafting him in – the Hammers striker has sustained a calf injury.
Ashton was withdrawn on 73 minutes after appearing to pick up a strain following a wayward effort from a free-kick. The injury is in his calf and West Ham are hoping that it’s just a case of severe cramp but the striker has been removed from Capello’s England squad and is due to have a scan on Monday.
In the Fantasy Premier League game over 3000 managers have already transferred the Hammers striker into their sides as a result of today’s goals.
