With the qualifiers for the Fantasy Football Scout Cup II, sponsored by Paddy Power, revealed earlier, all that is left is to do is to announce the first round draw itself. With help from my glamorous assistant greek fan, the draw was made, and is available to plot your opponents downfall here

For any of you thinking myself or greek fan may have fudged the draw to give us an easy passage into round two, think again. We’ve both been drawn against managers ranked inside the top 1000. My colleague and I will face-off against The_Monk and eskimo respectively.

Other ties for the Scout Contributors don’t get much easier, with Mark up against 3,201st in the world Totallylegitimate, Granville facing 4,542nd in the world mapgie36, and Andy taking on the always volatile RoysBrotherJohnson. Even I’m Not Marshal Foch and SUPERIOR BEING don’t have push-overs in Twisted Saltergater and Figono7 respectively.

Our defending champion donnellyc has perhaps his biggest test to date against Yepmop, who is 18th in the world! Yepmop isn’t our highest ranking manager in the cup, that title goes to 6th in the world ZB FC, who has drawn higgo.

For anyone else up against an opponent higher than you in the overall rankings, remember that a tie will not take you through, as overall rank will be the tie-breaker.

The results of round one will be made available a day or two after GW30 ends, and the second round draw will be announced a day or two before GW31 starts.

So a quick recap of the prizes then…

The overall winner will have £200 deposited into their Paddy Power account, and will take his/her place on the Fantasy Football Scout Hall of Fame. The Runner-up wins £100, and the winner of the 3rd place play-off will have £50 deposited into their Paddy Power account.

A gameweekly prize of a £25 bet will be awarded to the participant with the highest individual cup score for that particular gameweek.

So, there’s nothing left for me to say other than good luck to all (except eskimo).
