Drogba or bust.

That’s pretty much what the results of our Captain’s Poll is telling us this week; Didier Drogba is set to walk away with the armband crown at a canter, and is on 57% of those polled to date. It’s a one horse race, unless of course, you fancy a gamble or find yourself forced to back another nag.

Will a french filly named Malouda be enough to tempt you his way instead? He’s currently galloping along in second place with just 12% of your vote to date; behind him in third is the new flourishing breed from Holland – Van Der Vaart’s form is good but he’s still only clocked up a modest 8% of the vote to this point.

The real long shots aren’t getting much of a look in from our betting public. The horses in question are Carlos Tevez, Nani and Ashley Cole, all straggling along at the back, with just a few punters willing to gamble their Fantasy stake money. The remainder of the runners include the likes of Dimitar Berbatov, Fernando Torres, Gareth Bale, Cesc Fabregas and Steven Gerrard – all big big names who to this point, have gathered just 7% of the vote. Conditions will surely improve for that pack in future Gameweeks, but as far as this weekend is concerned, they’re doing all they can to avoid the glue factory.

So, who are you backing? Don’t forget to go to the frontpage and place your vote and let us know all the same. Particularly if you’re one of the brave, or foolish, few who will be looking beyond the Ivorian thoroughbred.

Reckon it could be Kalou to start and Malouda on for last ten minutes. Just speculation, but has happened before. Hope Malouda starts though.

to keep Alex or swap him for Boswinga?

Alex definitely isn't playing this week, Boswinga definitely is. But in the long term, I think with Chelsea having Ferreira and Ivanovic as well, Boswinga could well get rotated quite a bit...

    Carson (Krul)
    Dann, Konchesky, Terry (Jara, Foley)
    Nani, Etherington, Arshavin, Malouda (Ferguson)
    Berbatov, Tevez, Chamakh
    1.1 in the bank

You reckon it`s wise or not to do Arshavin > Van der Vaart transfer just for this week? Next week Fab would probably take his place (if nothing unexpected happens) and I`d have to take a hit to first downgrade Terry.

Is Rooney now going to find his spark again? FF contributor James Lee doesn't think so... see his hilarious article on Wayne's mental problems at http://www.footballfarrago.com

I have three with three with the red "box"...Jara and Foley (che) are my ONLY defenders to play...

Odemingie with a yellow box. Leaving me with Carroll and Berbatov up front. (Yes, in a drunken stupor I sold Drogba during last weeks flu...was not thinking clearly on lost value...)

I think the time has come. My finger is hovering over the WC button...

Time to press it. Redknapp's comments suggest Bale may be rested too. That's a lot of your team sitting.

I can't see Bale getting rested v Everton. He'll get next week off. He is too important to them and it is a very tough game. Just 'arrys way of moaning about number of games.

smp - if you are looking for reasons not to WC, why not Boswinga >> Alex ?

tell me what you think of my team:

    Hart

    Alcarez O'Shea A.Cole
    Malouda Nani Adam Gutierrez
    Tevez Berbatov Caroll

    Bench:nasri Coleman Clichy

Personally i feel city will keep a cleany against arsenal, therefore i have gone with Nazza and Clichy on the bench

I don't think adam will play. Also with fab and walcott returned, there is very slim chance of city keeping the clean sheet

Really need to sort my defence out this week, anyone got any ideas on what i should do? Want to transfer in Fab and Bent next week for Bale and Torres so could do with keeping 1.8m in the bank for that.

Bale or Adam (with chance Bale rested)

    Coleman or G.Cahill

    Thanks
