There’s been a lot of talk concerning Chalie Adam’s yellow card count – a significant concern as he goes into a double fixture in the forthcoming Gameweek. While some sources state that the Blackpool skipper sits on 8 bookings for the season, today we confirmed with the FA that Adam is in fact on 9 bookings and therefore just a single yellow card away from a 2-match ban. Potentially this could see him miss Blackpool’s second fixture of the Gameweek against Spurs, if Adam collects a booking against Villa.

Despite confirmation from the FA that Adam did sit on 9 bookings, we have gone one step further this evening in the light of further doubt concerning this situation, and received confirmation from Blackpool’s Secretary Matt Williams. He has confirmed to us first hand that Adam is on 9 bookings and one yellow away from a ban.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    my comment was lost at the bottom of last page, so i am reposting it:

    pls tell me how i can improve this team for this dgw

    foster (begovic)
    kelly kolarov coleman (djourou evatt)
    nani adam meireles vdv (n’zogbia)
    tevez rvp odemwingie(c)x

    any changes? i am worried as i only have 4 dgw players of which 2 are unlikely to play both games

    as such, i was thinking of brining in lennon for vdv? also should i start djourou? or bring in huth and start him over coleman as djourou will be a doubt, plus arsenal don't look so solid after last week!!1???

    thx

      I count that you have 8 potential double's in your team, Foster, Begovic, Djourou, Evatt, Adam, VDV, Odem and RVP.

      That's plenty of cover. You also don't say if you're on a wildcard or not, and if not then how many free transfers do you have this week?

      More info needed, but if You're not playing Evatt or Djourou on a double then time to get rid of them, I'd say.

        2 of those are GK's so that's one less.

        VDV wont play double.

        Djourou is a risk, doubt he'll play double.

    Got real selection dilemma this week: Who would you bench?

    Foster (VDS)
    Huth, Djorou, Coleman (Kolarov, Simpson)
    Fab, VDV, Nani, Adam (Nolan)
    RVP (C), Tev, Odemwingie

    Those in brackets are who I am opting for at the moment. Or do I bench Nani or Tevez? Nolan and Simpson have DGW but both away. VDV and Djorou injuries will have to be monitored, but I am assuming they will be fit.

      would lose .5 if i go t rid of VDV. seems worst case scenario he could still play the blackpool match, which could be a nice haul that validates leaving him in my squad. already planned having him benched for GW28, so Im keeping. Even if Djourou is fit, I have doubts he will feature in both. Gunners heavy schedule and Wengers statement that he doesnt want to play djourou 2 games a week leads me to believe he has to be rested somewhere along the way.

      Probably getting rid of both with this week's wildcard.

      Early indications are that VdV appears to be another Fabs type player who is forever going to be in and out with injuries.

      Thinking of taking the loss and downgrading to Lennon for the double then Cahill for GW's 28 and 29. Can always get VdV back after that.

      Djourou is more likely to play both doubles but, again I have R Johnson so I don't want to have 2 defs that I can't play in GW28, so its not worth taking the risk with him.

                The problem is that its a 2 game suspension.

                If you already have Spurs and Arsenal mids that, right now as we speak, don't have a game in GW28 you could be seriously stuffed.

                Some of us on wildcards just felt its safer to get rid now with the free transfer and avoid potential problems for GW28, which is a gameweek that looks like it could be a back breaker for a lot of managers.

                There's no right or wrong answer though. Each manager has to do what he or her believes is in the best interests of their team.

    Really having difficulty deciding between

    a) N'Zog & Rooney -> Fabs & Wingie, or
    b) N'Zog & VDV -> Walcott & Etherington

    a) appeals because I want rid of Rooney and want to keep VDV for the rest of the season, but it would mean i'd have to take a 4 point hit to field 11 in GW28...aghhh. Anyone have any advice?

        Yeah there is, but even if he doesnt make either games in GW27 he'll be on my bench and replaced by A Young.

        GW28 is the problem as i'd have to get rid of either VDV, Djourou, Fabs or RVP to field 11, and I think they are all season keepers for me. Is fielding 10 players and keeping them better than taking a 4 point hit to field 11 (and then probably get whoever I take out back in? over next few weeks?

          unless fabs goes bananas, he should be ok to drop without much worry after GW27. His price has never climbed so you wouldnt lose money and can bring him back later. Plus unless say RVP gets injured in GW27, Fabs will likely be the most dropped player beacuse of his blank and price tag. So you may be able to buy him back cheaper down the road and others wont burn you because most wont have him either. Fabs->Cahill next week is what Im doing, and what most fabs managers will likely be doing as well.

            +1

            Fabs --> cahill for me as well. Unless of course VDV's inj becomes worse during CL/double. I seem to recall last time he came back after inj he only lasted 8min or so?

            It will be a bit of a joke if the Ars/Spurs game get rescheduled for 28 won't it.

            To many uncertainties for me. Think Im just doing 1 trsfr and roling a trade for gw 28. I will take it on the chin and just hope for the best this week.

            Not a bad plan - the only problem i have is that I don't have a GK playing in GW28. So my options in GW28 appear to be:

            a) Stockdale -> Begovic (no hit but only 10 players playing)
            b) Fabs -> Cahill (no hit but only 10 players playing)
            c) Both of the above (4 point hit with 11 players playing)

            Which you reckon is the best option?

                another option for me (which doesn't solve the 10 players in GW28 problem) but I think i prefer long term is:

                GW27: Rooney & N'Zog -> Wingie & Walcott
                GW28: Stockdale -> Begovic (and if Adam gets the 10th yellow, Adam -> Cahill for a 4 point hit)
                GW29: Adam -> Cahill if not in GW28, otherwise Wingie -> Zigic

                This would all mean Walcott over Fabs this week, which seems to be a bit of a coin flip amongst the audience, so may be the way to go...what do you think??

    Morning chaps,

    So i have 2 freebies this week. Team link in my name. Right now i have a total on 8 DGW players, 4 of which won't have a game the following week.

    In my situation would you use the 2 freebies to maximise DGW potential, or carry one over to next week to help transfer those that won't have a game the following week.

    My current thinking is to save a transfer and do DJ Campbell -> Odemwengie this week.

    Comments much appreciated.

      Carry one over if you have 4 missing for GW28, that leaves you with the bare 11.

      Someone is bound to get injured/suspended (especially Adam who is 1 card away from suspension).

      DJ has 2 home games as well, Odem may outscore him, but its still somewhat of a sideways move, and a waste of transfer IMO. Id bench Dempsey, Coleman, and Hughes, transfer murphy out for Carr or R Johnson, then with your 1 freebie next week, drop fabs for cahill and you can field 11 with Szczesny, RJ, RVP and VDV on bench.

        Decent advice on the DJ -> Odem move, probably not worth it.

        Is Murphy going to play both DGW? If yes, leave him in. If no, out.

    Quick shot at WC with starting lineup for GW27:

    Szczesny (Begovic)
    Huth RJohnson Kelly Coleman (Kolarov)
    Fabs Walcott VDV Adam (Nani)
    RVP Odem (Tevez)

    Concerns are obvious - Adam yellow, VDV injury, RVP/Walcott rotation.

      Huth - I don't really like. Next 4GW's are decent but after that go downhill.

      Kelly - WIG next, after that fixtures are not great. However, LIV look a lot more solid ATM.

      VDV - I am pretty certain he wont play Saturday, he'll be rested for AC Milan game. He is not even a definite to play against BLP in the 2nd of the DGW. He also misses GW28. I'm probably getting rid.

      Adam - worth the risk IMO, if he survives the first game without a yellow he could get a decent haul.

      RVP/Walcott - RVP is essential. Everyone will be in the same boat. Walcott also a good pick, could pay off hugely.

      i would personally start tevez over coleman. United have alot of injury concerns in the back and everton defence isnt in form to expect a CS. Is there a chance tevez gets you 2 points and coleman gets 5 with an assist, sure. But not as likely IMO as coleman getting a 2 and tevez finding the net.

    a) Fabs
    b) Walcott

    (never thought I'd ever be asking that question...)

    Another handy Firefox add-on for FPL managers:

    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-us/firefox/addon/fox-splitter-formerly-split-br/

    If you get tired of switching tabs or resizing and lining up broweser windows to compare team / fixtures / news, this little fella splits one browser windows into panels. It's a feature I've always thought should be developed into Firefox.

    The Adam thing - if we assume he will pick up a booking sometime soon, he will still play 10 out of the last 12 games which include four in a row at home....his points-per-game ratio remains outstanding for his price. Can't see the logic in getting rid. I think too many people are obsessing over GW28 and failing to see the bigger picture....

    Are people getting rid of Adam?

    I would do but the likes of Ethrington, Pedersen and Nolan don't offer much value alternative.

    If he can get through the first game without a booking i'll be happy.

    Thinking Djorou -> Koschielny, i have two free transfers. Koschielny guarantees both games and won't be suprised if Arsenal keep two cleanies + could be an attacking threat.

    Some Advise please,
    Present front 8 is
    Fabregas/Young A/Lampard/Gardner/Nani
    Rooney/Bent/Vela

    what do you think is the best course of action to do,
    a – make transfer(s)ie Lampard>DGW player?
    or
    b – stick with (as can field good 11 GW28+), who to bench this week?

    WC team - any thoughts on it?

    Foster, (Robinson)
    Johnson R, Djourou, Kelly, Evra, (Coleman)
    Nani, Van der Vaart, Adam, Walcott, (Barton)
    Tevez, Van Persie, (Odemwingie)

    Kinda hard to set up with gw28 in mind. The plan is to swap Walcott and VDV for Cahill and someone else. Four point hit but then I should have enough players for the round.

    Also unsure about keeping Adam. This is a cheap team, so I have 3.8 in the bank.

    This plan seem ok? Would mean 7 doublers in 27 (incl VDV & Djourou, so prob only 5), 11 starters in GW28 and 4 doublers in GW29...

    GW27: N'Zog & Rooney -> Fabs & Wingie
    GW28: Stockdale & Fabs -> Begovic & Cahill (4 point hit)
    GW29: Wingie -> Saha

        RVP would be nailed on if I was sure he'd play both games. I have a feeling Fabs is due plus he's more likely to play both games so it's between those two for me. How about you?

    Gentlemen, my current team is;

    Szczesny (Stockdale)
    Coleman, Evra, Toure, (Hangeland, Clark)
    Nani, Adam, VDV, Brunt (Ferguson)
    Rooney, Torres, DJ

    Thinking of taking Nani and Rooney out for Fabs and RVP for the DGW, but then United have a double GW the next week - So completely stuck for ideas - Chasing the top pack in my league (I'm 4th and 30 points behind). Any suggestions would be much welcomed!!!
