The most anticipated showdown this weekend unquestionably comes at Old Trafford and Sir Alex Ferguson looks set to recall plenty big names after making eight changes to his midweek Champions League starting lineup for the trip to Benfica. Opposite number Andre Villas-Boas, will once again be without Didier Drogba but elsewhere has an almost fully-fit squad to choose from.

Rafael Van der Vaart is doubtful so Emmanuel Adebayor should continue up top with Jermain Defoe for the visit of Liverpool; Kenny Dalglish is without Glen Johnson and must decide whether to keep Andy Carroll benched. Arsene Wenger welcomes back Gervinho and Alex Song from suspension for the trip to Blackburn, whilst new signings Mikel Arteta and Yossi Benayoun should keep their places- the Israeli played furthest forward of the Arsenal midfield trio in the midweek draw at Dortmund.

Roberto Mancini will likely rotate some of his side at Fulham after their efforts against Napoli on Wednesday. Mick McCarthy could be without key marksman Steven Fletcher and may push Stephen Ward up front from left-back as they face QPR. Emmerson Boyce is rated 50/50 for Wigan’s game at Goodison Park, which could see Ronnie Stam facing Leighton Baines on the flank.

    Its that time again when I fight with myself as to who i should captain.
    I have Rooney everyweek so far but should I change it to catch RVP when he destroys Blackburn or maybe go for Mr 10pts a week Silva. Just can't decide. Maybe Rooney will do a hatrick of hatricks in the Premier league. Has that ever happended before?

        Or go into your team at about 11:29 and keep switching captain (hit confirm after each time) until one time you do it and you can't cos its updating. Captain russian roulette!

        I was hoping he would be classified as a Mid rather than a forward. Dont want to waste my 3 forward spots for him but would gladly but him in my midfield 4.

      RJ played in a Birmingham team who liked to score from set plays (if at all).
      Most of Wards few returns have come being OOP near the end of the year. Plus he's off the mark this season already.

    Is anyone playing a Newcastle defender vs Aston Villa away? Clean sheets have been quite hard to predict so far and I'm unsure again this week. Enrique, Ward, Taylor, S Taylor Bowsinga. ATM I have Bos, Taylor and Ward playing with Enrique and Taylor benched.

    Bos against UTD is a tough one but he's quality and always an attacking threat. These big games are often as tight as a ducks behind too.

    Any thoughts?

      My thought is that if nobody is screaming out at you and your player is not injured, you should leave it until the next week and use 2 transfers for free.

    Dissecting arsene wenger's system position / role wise , Rvp = bergkamp, arteta= fabregas, song = vieira, Walcott = ljungberg (can't stop scoring for a few seasons), arshavin= pires (was fpl darling), and finally gervinho = Thierry Henry ( the most expensive must have player of all time in fpl) , just random thoughts guys.

    If you're way behind rival now, don't panic. Marathon, not snickers! If you inch up on them over the season that's way better than being at the top and stressing every week cos you've got a perch to be knocked off.... Chill with the still. Just remember: a lot of this is luck.....
