It’s the first Monday Night Football installment of the season, and we’re at Goodison Park to see Everton host Manchester United. The build-up to this game has surrounded around the arrival of Robin van Persie at Manchester United, and how he would feature this evening. Everton XI: Howard, Hibbert, Baines, Distin, Jagielka, Neville, Osman, Fellaini, Pienaar, Gibson, Jelavic.

Man United XI: De Gea, Valencia, Vidic, Carrick, Evra, Cleverley, Kagawa, Scholes, Nani, Welbeck, Rooney.

Sir Alex Ferguson chooses to start just one of his two major signings, and it’s the Japanese playmaker Shinji Kagawa that makes his United debut. It’s a makeshift defence with Antonio Valencia and Michael Carrick filling the gaps. Robin van Persie starts on the bench.

As for the hosts, David Moyes names a familiar looking side, leaving new signing Steven Naismith on the bench.

      Torres > Rooney was my original plan - see no reason why United shouldn't bag at least two goals v Fulham - hopefully Rooney will score both....They may concede though - so will play Petric...

      IF you are going to take a hit I would get rid of Ramires for Kags and hang on to Torres for one more week. That is my plan anyway but I am getting rid of Bannan for Kags so a much easier decision.

    What do people think is a better idea?
    a)Take a hit this GW and get Kagawa for Lamps.
    b)Take a hit next gameweek and get any midfielder for Lamps, probably Bale or Kagawa.
    c)Dont take a hit, and just Bench Lampard for GW3?

    Already have Rooney, Rafael and VDV

      I have Cazorla out of those three, but was very impressed with Nasri yesterday. Can see City turing over the Pool so I'd go with him. Lamps has a blank week in gw3 - wouldn't get him now.

          I'm back - been in the background on the run-up to the new season. Still kicking myself hard after choosing Cashley over Ivan. Nice to get back into a bit of banter - lot of new faces around....being the shy and retiring type I am easing myself back in gently.

    I was just wondering if it is possible to check how many points hits you have taken last season? Also, if you remember, how many did you take last season yourself?

    I think I did way too many, probably racked up around 40ish hit points. Going to seriously cut down this season.

      Don't think I took any actually, probably did by necessity a few times though. Twice at the most I'd expect. I don't think they're ever worth it generally.

    *Doesn't leave me the option of doing Torres -> Rooney as I will only have 1.5m in the bank..

    Kagawa looked like he might pick up quite a few assists. As for the other option, well, he is just the golden boy of this gwk isn't he 🙂

    Will Aguero fall tonight? totalfpl doesn't think so but FISO does. Anybody know the rules from last night for rising and falling? One of them (rising or falling) was a set figure (like 23456 or something) and the other was a 10% change in ownership but I can't remember which is which.

    Would like to wait for the results of the scan ideally.
