Fantasy managers have this afternoon been given notice of another double Gameweek to prepare after Sunderland confirmed the date for their rearranged home clash with Reading. Initially scheduled for Gameweek 2, the clash was called off due to a waterlogged pitch but has now been rescheduled for Tuesday December 11 – presumably affording both clubs a pair of fixtures in Gameweek 16.

Sunderland will now welcome Chelsea and Reading to the Stadium of Light in the Gameweek, while the Royals also have a trip to Southampton on their agenda. Although the Black Cats have been disastrous in front of goal in recent weeks, their backline has impressed at home – just two goals have been conceded in three matches in front of their own fans. Simon Mignolet and Carlos Cuellar (priced at 5.0 and 4.5 in Fantasy Premier League) are likely to garner extra attention, then, though with United, City and Spurs as three of their following four opponents, stocking up on the likes of Steven Fletcher could be a risky tactic. Martin O’Neill’s men do face a trip to QPR in Gameweek 15 and a trip to Southampton in Gameweek 18, perhaps making Fletcher that little bit more enticing.

For Reading, without a single clean sheet this season, investment at the back looks a risky option. Brian McDermott’s men have, however, seen an upturn in attacking output since rolling out a 4-4-2; they have scored seven goals in the previous three matches they have used this formation. Recent Watchlist candidate Jobi McAnuff, who has assisted five of his side’s 11 goals, will surely be earmarked by many; coming in at 5.1 in Fantasy Premier League, the winger looks a real contender, while Pavel Pogrebnyak (now down to 4.7 in FPL) is the only forward to start every game for McDermott’s side so far.

Reading do, however, face United at home in Gameweek 15 and then play Arsenal and City in the two Gameweeks immediately after the double, suggesting any over-investment in their assets could be come at a cost.

Do you still have your wildcard? If not, then having 4 from these two underperforming teams is a bit overkill especially when their fixtures around the DGW are not that good.

No. As Liverpool's supporters we're supposed to be much more optimistic than that. At least 2-0 to the Pool is on the card for me. Newcastle this year have struggled to score home and away while Liverpool are starting to play with more and more purposes under Rodgers.

Sorry, repost from last page (posted just before the new page):

    Bego (Jaask)

    Rafael, Baines, Davies (Jenks, demel)

    Haz, Caz, Pienaar, Walters, Sterling

    Tevez, RVP (Berba)

Suggestions for this team? 1FT. My thoughts is a hit to get bale in for caz w/NEW or SUN df for jenks. have to do this tonight before bale rise. Or just shawX for jenks. That will give me both GK and DF from stoke – to risky? Cheers, guys!

I did Caz to Bale, mainly out of fear of not owning him for Wig game and because Arse are looking blunt in attack.

Also would love a Stoke DF and Bego but had to do a hit to rid myself of Guthrie.

So I'd do Jenks>Cameron and bank the extra cash which will no doubt come in handy later

Eagerly awaiting the press conferences tomorrow, get the Ba and Berba situations sorted. Really do not want to replace either of them, worse case Berba>Defoe but not seeing Ade fit im wondering if thats not a great move. Only have 2 million in the bank so cant really upgrade to anyone else with any long term potential, just shy of Tevez frustratingly.

I am tempted more by Valencia as next 5/6 are juicy, though I will go down that road if Cazorla misfires again. Exactly, Oscar = UCL, Mata and Hazard = EPL have had the best performances so far.

Btw, bet you didn't recognise me as I am no longer Figgs Klaxon? 😛

Agree, plus then you will have at least a back 3 playing. Then should any injuries or suspensions occur you have the extra transfer for.next week. If you still want Stevie gone by then, well, use it at that time. But its tough to say, could only be a maeeter of.time till he comes back in.

Irrespective of that, Baines Cameron and Cuellar is great for this week. Saylor (if he plays) or Sagna won't get much this week, so definitely hold off getting rid of Saylor for this GW.

I can see kightly getting something against norwich, also think pienaar with baines will be a horror show for reither. So on that basis, sterling

It's still very 50-50 for me, but the current price of Mata and the fact that he's on corners/free kicks just edges it. Having said that, I still don't have him in my team! (although plan to get him in this week...)

interesting you say about corners, might be my imagination, but isnt Mata on ones from the right and hazard from the left?

Ah, of course, how could I forget 🙂 Still though, Matas free kicks are mental.....

Good point, might have to look at this next week. Also want to fit in tony v, going to mata would fund that one!

Are you thinking of bringing Mata in this week then? If so, who for? Hazard or Cazorla? I'm so tempted to take the punt and double up on Chelsea from this gameweek. It's between Cazorla > Bale/Mata for me this week, really wanna do the latter...

Mata in for hazard and tony v for hba, he wont produce much unless we switch back to 4 3 3

Wouldn't bother doing Hazard > Mata tbh, far too sideways. Just double up, you know you want to 😉

Pretty good, but need to work on the balance a bit more. Too much in ATT leaving a shoddy DF. I'd personally downgrade Suarez (frustrating and bonus point repeller) and try to fit Baines in there. Also, is there a real need for Oscar when you have Mata?

I know i had baines initially, got cameroon for him and did noble to Oscar, Suarez is south american so he stays too. Defence is average i agree,

If Ba is out this weekend I've got Sterling coming in...I really hope he delivers on his promise! I worry about his potential for assists though with Suarez always hitting them into Row Z!
