The ScoutCast Goes Live

There’s bad news and good news. Maybe. The bad news is that there’s no ScoutCast scheduled for this week. On the flipside, that’s because we’ve decided to take on a new approach which offers a new way to “enjoy” the weekly get-together with myself, Granville and any guests we persuade/cajole into joining us on air.

The ScoutCast is going live.

From next week we will be using Google Hangouts to stream the ScoutCast recording live. You’ll be able to tune in to the session and have the pleasure of seeing Granville and myself in our humble abodes and you’ll be able to interact live with us, during the recording, with Jonty joining us to fire us your questions and reactions.

If you can’t join us on the night, you’ll be able to download or view the ScoutCast Hangout shortly after the recording and, as usual, we’ll be publishing an edited version, in the usual mp3 format as a podcast, on Thursday evenings.

It will take time for us to adjust to this brave new world. The live stream will expose us, warts and all, to you the listener/viewer, but that’s a risk we’re prepared to take to improve interactivity and take the ScoutCast forward. Besides, with my current rank, I’m at rock bottom with nothing to lose.

Jonty will be setting up Hot Topics and a Twitter hashtag and, when our new live comments system is up and running (it’s looking good by the way), we’ll be embedding the live stream in this and you’ll be able to interact with us in real-time.

As well as Jonty’s return, we’ll be trying to bring in special guests on a weekly basis and we’ve already lined up the first victim for the opening show.

We’ll bring you more details on all this in the days to come and, if you want to be kept in the loop and get involved on the night, we recommend that you follow us on Google+ or Twitter to get the latest news and subscribe to our new YouTube channel, where all our ScoutCasts will be published from here on in.

If all goes to plan, we’ll see you, or rather, you’ll being seeing us, next Wednesday evening.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Lost on bottom of last page..

With Rooney out, I think that makes more of a case for "The Power 5" midfield..

Look at this potential team for the run in and let me know what you think..

    Mannone - Given
    Jones - Azpili - Sagna/Skrtel - Ward - Chester
    Ramsey - Mata - Yaya - Silva - Gerrard
    Suarez - Aguero - Welbeck

Bear in mind Rooney out would likely see Welbeck play up front, if Hernandez was given a run I'd downgrade Gerrard to Eriksen or Lallana...

After watching Pool vs WHU where Suarez aims at least 5 times to drive the ball to their defenders's hands looking for a pk i would never ship Gerrard out.. Pool can get a pk every game and Stevie won't miss them

        Ramsey - Yaya - Silva - Mata - Eriksen
        Suarez - Aguero - Hernandez/Welbeck

You'd have to bench Ramsey / Eriksen / UTD Striker depending on the worst fixture of the three of them! Probably bench Eriksen for his tougher away fixtures

Would back Sturridge in form over any fixtures, more attacking threat then Gerrard. Besides the obvious Suarez and Aguero, perhaps Adebayor. Rooney/RVP may be back, Lukaku good shout too if he gets consistent.

Ok well considering most will have Aguero / Suarez, then Adebayor and Lukaku are still a lot cheaper than Rooney, allowing for midfield upgrades! 😀

If you're serious - there's less than 0 chance of that. Baines is the better pen taker. Martinez isn't going to risk his team's chances of Champions League football so some bit part player can say he got 5 goals.

I just feel Sturridge isn't explosive enough compared to Aguero. He has had 4 GW's where he has scored over 10 points but Aguero has had 6 over less games.

Add in Agueros DGW I think it's the right thing to do. Suarez is cover enough and I may even get Gerrard back in after this GW.

        Who're you shipping to?

Surely there's going to be a mass exodus of Everton players next week or the week after, people must have an idea of the best defenders to get in for the last few games?

I've been looking and nobody stands out majorly for me.. Ivanovic? Sagna? Skrtel? 😐

A little but he's proved before he can score even with little match fitness.

The players around him are match fit so as long as he gets himself in the right places at the right times he should have chances.

Also Liverpool do like to conceded.

As one of those who brought him inlast time and took a eight point hit to get him out i am not touching him until he proves his fitness and shows some form.

With five weeks to go whats the point in the gamble? There are other strikers out there in form and going in on a cold Aguero is not worth it in my view.

If i was chasing a lead i might have to consider it though

At the risk of sounding like a broken record, before removing Sturridge from your team remember that Pool plays Norwich next week and SaS could do a lot of damages then.

Perhaps the best approach is to bench Sturridge and play 3-5-2 or 4-4-2...

I just want Suarez, Lukaku & Aguero ahead of him right now.

Add into that if I get Gerrard in next GW I'm sure between him and Suarez I will get enough points for goal involvement from those two to mitigate not having Sturridge.

Worth it imo, at certain times in the season you need to make the big decisions and say yes he has been scoring well but his time has run and maybe there are better options around for more points.

For me I think that point is now (or more like 2 weeks ago!)

Indeed, Norwich have to get something otherwise they could be relegated and they do cause some upsets at home each season. The main point is there are better options than Sturridge now, Liverpool can't afford to be as open as earlier because they actually are within touching distance of the title. Suarez and Stevie is enough for me

I wouldn't base too much on something like this:

Terry news only comes from one source, which makes me doubt it personally.

It's not completely fake though, he did pick up a knock in the PSG game. He seemed in a little discomfort and the commentators picked up on it too. The reports could be making up the severity of it but it did look like he carried on because it was such an important game whereas in 'easier' games he probably would have come off. Just my opinion though

I think that is part of the problem. Effectively you could think of it as -8

                    What's the issue with Baines?
If Terry is injured, that's a problem worth fixing surely.

As MJ says it can become a -8 in the long run and any points gained are lost therefore rendering them shorterm gain .
                      ( MJ is conservative tho ) 😉

              Pinch of salt stuff.

"City manager Manuel Pellegrini is ready to restore leading scorer Agüero to his forward line."

No quotes from Pelle, only alleged Zaba comments.

Who knows if he'll start or be benched.

Yeah but from the news we have about Aguero being in full training two days before the Southampton game we can logically deduce that he is probably ready to start now. Whether Pelle goes with him or not I don't know. His quotes from last week seemed to suggest to me that he would be starting Aguero against Liverpool but that could just have been the way he worded it (unintentionally of course because English isn't his first language)

He said something like ''Aguero has been in full training for two days now but it is probably too soon to start him. For Liverpool he will have no problems''
