Brendan Rodgers confirms that Daniel Sturridge is set for a short spell on the sidelines with a thigh injury. Aaron Ramsey has emerged as an injury concern for Arsenal’s clash with City at the Emirates. Romelu Lukaku is amongst a quartet of players to return to training for Everton. Alan Pardew has ruled Rolando Aarons out of weekend visit to St Mary’s. Roberto Soldado remains a doubt as Spurs visit the Stadium of Light and Leicester are set to be boosted by the return of midfielder Matty James.

Arsene Wenger has revealed that Aaron Ramsey “has a chance for Saturday” after the midfielder picked up an ankle injury on international duty with Wales. Elsewhere, Kieran Gibbs, Mikel Arteta and Mesut Ozil have all been passed fit and are set to be included in the squad, though the Arsenal boss has refused to confirm whether or not new signing Danny Welbeck will feature from the start.

Everton boss Roberto Martinez has confirmed that Romelu Lukaku is likely to be in contention to face West Brom at the weekend. Lukaku had been struggling with a toe problem, and subsequently missed Belgium’s friendly with Australia, but the club record signing has taken part in training today along with Steven Pienaar, Arouna Kone and Bryan Oviedo. Samuel Eto’o and Leon Osman both face late fitness tests after sustaining knocks in the past week.

Daniel Sturridge is expected to be out for “up to three weeks” with a thigh injury, Brendan Rodgers has confirmed. Meanwhile, summer signing Emre Can could be sidelined for up to six weeks after the midfielder suffered an ankle injury while playing for Germany Under-21s. Joe Allen will also be assessed ahead of the Villa game after hurting his knee while turning out for Wales earlier this week, though Martin Skrtel, Glen Johnson and Jon Flanagan are all out.

Newcastle have suffered another injury blow, with Alan Pardew confirming that Rolando Aarons will miss the weekend visit to St Mary’s after sustaining a hamstring injury. In more positive news, Pardew revealed that midfielder Cheick Tiote will be in the squad for Saturday providing he returns from international duties unscathed, while Jack Colback has also declared himself fit for the trip to Southampton. New signing Facundo Ferreyra has been ruled out with a back injury.

Mauricio Pochettino has confirmed that Roberto Soldado is a doubt for the Sunderland clash with a neck injury, while Kyle Walker remains sidelined.

Ronald Koeman has confirmed new boy Sadio Mane is uncertain to feature at home to Newcastle. The Senegal star has to travel to Ghana to receive a work permit and, even if he’s available, is set for a bench role at best.

Leicester’s Matty James has returned to training after missing the start of the season with a shin injury. Nigel Pearson, though, has hinted that the Stoke clash is likely to come too soon for the central midfielder.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official twitter stream as breaking news unfolds.

So im going to use my WC and i cant make up my mind about:

    1. Aguero - Costa - Naismith
    2. Aguero - Flacau - Naismith

    My team:
    Migno-Krul
    Iva - Taylor(swa)- Duff - Wisdom - Coloccini
Ramsey - Sterling- Fabe - Sigge - Boyd

The issue is that i want to get some Man U coverage in. Was contemplating ramsey for di maria and mabe going for welbeck. Is Costa really a "must have" when i already got fabbe and ivan, or mabe ill get rid of fabbe and keep costa??

    GAME WHY U SO HARD!

First time playing FF and only have 102pts after 3 GW's. Gonna wildcard. Here's what I've came up with. Please RMT

    Begovic / McCarthy

    Clyne / Shawcross / Moreno / Moore / Duff

Di Maria / Fabregas / Sterling / Siggy / Boyd

    Costa / Balotelli / Naismith

    1.6m ITB

plan is to switch ADM > Ramsey once fixtures improve
had Rooney but taking a punt on balo

If ure in the middle of WC, I'd upgrade one of defenders for Chelsea defender... It surely be the team with most clean sheets throughout the season... Especially if you ended up with 1,6 mln itb

Just add chelsea def and you should be fine. Monitor balotelli though, might be a slowish start

I'd go Jovetic->Naismith (Welbz could be nice option too) and no hit

Currently on a WC, please thoughts on this team?

    Krul McCarthy
    Chester Moore Ivanovic Taylor Duff
Boyd Sigurdsson Di María Fábregas Sterling
    Welbeck Balotelli Diego Costa

I'm planning to replace Ivanovic with Baines when Everton's fixtures get better (GW8) and I will replace Balotelli with Aguero in GW6 (I have 2.1 in the bank)

I personally would rather take a 4point hit, then leave 2.1 mln in the bank... This money should make points...;)

Hello. Got few injury concerns (Jones, Jovetic, Rambo, Costa, Hazard)

Jones and Jovetic to 4m defender and Balotelli (no hit) and Marney 1st sub

    OR

Jones, Jovetic and Marney to 4,4m defender, Naismith and Sterling (-4pt hit) and Siggy 1st sub.

    Thanks

Jones, Jov ----> Clyne, Pelle (Wellbeck if you don't mind the fixtures) this week. Wait on the others.

    Hey guys,

What do you think about Eric Dier's playing time when Kyle Walker gets fit again?
And when is that likely to be (Walker being fit again)?

Dier is a CB but filling in at RB for Walker (Naughton is terrible). There is no time table on Walker's return, it is going to be a while.

I had ruled out Yaya Toure from my wildcard as he has looked very sluggish and demotivated so far this season
But his attacking stats are strong, 2nd for shots, 5th for shots inside the box, 8th for final third touches, 2nd for successful forward passes.
Just his total chances created that's poor (just 1)

Has he gotten too full of himself and greedy? Trying to go for player of the year rather than helping the team?
Or do the stats indicate he'll get 15+ goals again this year?

    Hi Guys,

    Please help...

    1. Ramsey + Moreno + cheap att
    2. Ivanovic + Welbeck + cheap mid

I'm very tempted to go for option 2.

Ivan + Welbeck should have greater goal threat than 1.

    Krul (Elliot)
    Clyne Chester Jones Wisdom Vlaar
    Ramsey Sigs Mata Sterling Fabs
    Rooney Naismith Costa

So after hearing about Phil Jones, I think that using my 2 FT is essential. (0.4 in the bank)

I was thinking about going Jones/Vlaar to Evans/Manquillo for this week. I think I'm going to give Mata/Rooney another week to see how things play out.

Is there anything else I should be monitoring?

4.9 def + Fab + Falcao (back to Costa if needed in future)

    or

    Moreno + Ramsey + Costa

also, I played my WC, to those guys: in McCarthy out Foster
    in Pieters out Cahill
    in Taylor out Cameron
    in Di María out Mata
    in Chadli out Isgrove
    in Mirallas out Eriksen
    in Diouf out Long

Okay i've decided to take a -4 hit to transfer Jovetic out as i've got too many injuries or doubts to risk leaving him and i was planning to transfer him out soon anyway.

I have Costa and Rooney up front, do I transfer Jovetic for:

    A) Welbeck (budget option but unfavourable fixtures)

    B) Pelle (bit more of a punt but could pay up as no rivals have him)

    C) Adebayor (no money left in bank)

    Any advice appreciated!

I'd hold off on Welbeck for now, maybe get him at some later time.
      Adebayor looks a sound option.

Planning to WC this week. Here's the team I'm going for.

    Krul--Mannone

    Wilson--Moreno--Clyne--Cahill--Duff

    Sterling--Ramsey--Di Maria--Siggy--Quinn

    Costa--Naismith--Falcao 0.7 in bank

I was thinking of switching Moreno with Lovren (set piece threat). Should I switch Ramsey (injury doubt) with Fabregas?
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Too many injury concerns Phil Jones, Ramsey and Costa. Rooney, Mata and Eriksen under performing.
