Fantasy Bet

FantasyBet Focus – Gameweek 36

We return to the customary ten-fixture slate in FantasyBet this time around. Their weekly flagship pot, the Grand Weekend contest, covers all of those match-ups and has £1000 on offer in prizes as usual.

Once again there’s a qualifier with three tickets available for entry into the Grand Finale. That game has £5000 up for grabs in the final round of the season, by far FantasyBet’s largest ever prize pot.

If you would like to try something new as the season winds down, it’s worth checking out the Flash freeroll. This refreshing format has a three-minute time limit in which to construct your squad, testing your knowledge of the player list, which itself is a ‘lucky’ roster, with each participant receiving a unique set of players to pick from. That makes for some left-field line-ups and those differentials you’ve had your eye on suddenly become captain candidates.

If you are unfamiliar with FantasyBet it is particularly accessible for those who play Fantasy Premier League, as it uses a similar scoring and pricing system.

Check out this daily and weekly fantasy football guide to see how the game works.

MY TEAM

Heurelho Gomes (4m)
Patrick Van Aanholt (4.5m)
Aaron Cresswell (5.5m)
Hector Bellerin (5.5m)
Andros Townsend (5.5m)
Dimitri Payet (7.5m)
Mesut Ozil (9.5m)
Alexis Sanchez (11m)
Jermaine Defoe (5m)
Andy Carroll (6m)
Harry Kane (9.5m)

KEY PICKS

Heurelho Gomes – The Watford number one will be looking to consolidate his spot at the top of the keeper standings at home to relegated Villa this weekend. Gomez has recorded eight of his 11 clean sheets at Vicarage Road and faces an out-of-sorts attack that have netted once in six on the road.

Patrick van Aanholt – Sunderland go in search of a fourth clean sheet in five this weekend as they travel to a Stoke side that have struggled for goals in recent matches. Van Aanholt has also picked up five bonus points over his last two run-outs, supplementing the attacking forays that have delivered five strikes so far this campaign.

Alexis Sanchez – The Chilean blanked for the first time in eight league appearances in last week’s goalless draw at the Stadium of Light. A home tie with Norwich should set Sanchez back on track for a strong finish, though – he’s the first name on my team sheet after averaging nine points per match over the previous seven ties.

Andy Carroll – Despite being named in the West Ham XI in just two of his last six outings, the big target man has produced an impressive 22 attempts on goal, with 19 efforts inside the box more than any other player. Carroll has bagged six goals over that period and his aerial threat for the trip to West Brom offers a good chance for further points.

LAST WEEK

A positive week with wins in the Grand Weekend and Double-Up games brought in £17, though I was left ruing the decision to captain Harry Kane in the former.

Payetandmash made the top spot in the Grand Weekend contest. Captaining Shane Long bought in 24 points, while Leicester assets Leonardo Ulloa (13 points) and Riyad Mahrez (nine points) raised his total to 74 and helped net over £250 in winnings.

THIS WEEK’S GAME PICKS

As always the best place to start if you’re new to FantasyBet are the freerolls – there is a £50 pot available for this Gameweek in both the standard format and £20 in the Flash Freeroll.

The Grand Weekend is £11 to enter for a chance to win part of the £1000 guaranteed prize money.

In the run-up to the Grand Finale in Gameweek 38, which has a £5,000 pot on offer, it’s possible to enter a qualifier this week for a £3.30 stake to win one of three entry tickets usually worth £33.

THIS WEEK’S STAKE

I’m entering the Grand Weekend, the Grand Finale Qualifier, the freerolls, the Double-up contest and entering a team into the FFScout Picks League for a total outlay of £17.70.

In addition, I’ll be going up against Balders, the Community champion in this week’s Scout Picks. He will be taking me on in a specially set up head to head game for a chance to win free entry into a £500 Guaranteed ‘Big Weekly’ game worth £22.

Also the eligible Community Champion who beats the Scout Picks by the highest margin every month will win a free entry into the £600 guaranteed ‘Boss’ game worth £55.

FFSCOUT PICKS LEAGUE

Galdgeholt topped the FFScout league with 77 points in Gameweek 35. Captaining Sergio Aguero delivered a respectable 12 points, whilst the inclusion of Kelechi Iheanacho (16 points) up front and Alberto Moreno (10 points) in defence helped clinch first place.

Once again, FantasyBet have provided a £100 pot for the FFScout Picks League – with a £1.10 stake for entry, it is now possible to enter two teams into this contest. I will enter our Scout Picks as closely as possible, given a 15-man squad is required with the 100m budget and a captain also needs to be selected.

Feel free to go up against them this week and pick your own squad on FantasyBet.

Keeping both Coutinho and Firmino and shipping Gabriel for Cresswell for -4.... Praying that Kun plays and Firmino starts which is extremely unlikely. Simpson and Smalling on the bench....

Why spend -4 on Gabs out when youve got simpson and smalling on bench?

I do not see any standout options in the midfield to bring in... 🙁

Anyone else bringing in Deeney ahead of Defoe??

Currently second in ML with a 55 points deficit and i guess the guy leading will bring in Defoe for Mitro.
    my team
    Ddg(Darlow)
    Kos Pva Gabriel (Simpson Francis)
    Lanzini Payet Sanchez Mahrez (Alli)
    Pelle Kane Kun
Pelle> Deeney for a -4? Already did Sakho to PVA

I'm 104 pts behind so I have to punt nobody in my ML has Defoe as it stands but that could change tomorrow your chasing time to play differentials till end of the season.

I have Lanzini and Carroll already.

Do I still need to bring Payet in?

Don't need to but the mids are the most difficult positions to fill - i'm struggling on WC - even considering Barkley!

I'm planning to. Would possibly not bother with Lanzini if I didn't have him, but not worth a transfer!

Okay, so now I've started to consider getting rid of Kun for a hit.. most City fans on Blue moon forum want him to get a rest. Hmm. He will definitely play on Wednesday and next weekend, so this is the time to rest. Time to replace him with a DGW'er?

I am using my wc now.. currently on Carroll Sturridge Deeney (in that order), Defoe my 4th option atm surely also considering him

Carroll is a no-brainer on a WC imo. Sturridge and Deeney are also great options. As a Defoe owner I'm worried about Sunderland's lack of creativity. They seem to trying to defend well, trying to get a goal and hopefully win 1-0

A couple of doubts for this week's transfers.. any help?

    1. Sakho -> Smalling or PvA? (doubling up either way)
    2. KDB -> Payet this week or next? (smalling only affordable if I do it)
    3. Do both of the above for a hit, or only one?

    Cheers!
