The Community Round Up

New faces to the Premier League, both on the pitch and in the dugout, come under discussion among our hot topic posters this week. There is also still plenty of chat about Euro 2016, with tournament winners, card magnets and top performers the main issues of interest. Members have also been busy gathering the best statistics so far during the tournament and with the quarter-finals now in full swing, we also catch up on the current leaders of our Euro 2016 community tournaments.

The Community Articles

For those already looking for the next challenge in management, Balders dropped by with his guide to the Fantasy Tour de France game that starts this weekend.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

Eric Bailly has become the latest recruit to the Premier League after signing for Jose Mourinho’s Manchester United. The Ivory Coast international looks to be the prime candidate to partner Chris Smalling in defence, prompting us to ask for your views on his prospects and those of the other new faces to the English top flight.

Among 2016/17’s new managerial appointments, Antonio Conte at Chelsea is attracting considerable interest, in particular among those such as Berbinho’s Forehead ,who are in search of Premier League clean sheets. Conte’s impressive management of the Italy side during Euro 2016 is giving many cause for optimism. One of his imminent new signings, Belgian international Michy Batshuayi, is also garnering attention, from Somalian among others.

With the tournament’s quarter-finals now underway, Slavic Madrista canvassed the community’s views on which country will win Euro 2016. Balders, meanwhile, has been keeping a close eye on the tournament’s suspension tightrope to highlight those players who are a booking away from missing out on a semi-final berth should their team progress. The community also gave their views on the players that are likely to make their tournament dream XI.

The Members Tables

Belgium’s attacking threat came under the watchful gaze of Camp no no’s latest table as well as the most recent statistics from Bowstring92 this week. This will also prove interesting reading for those considering drafting in the Red Devils’ key Premier League stars at the start of the 2016/17 campaign, such as Eden Hazard. Staying with Euro 2016, I’ve also tweaked my set piece specialists table to show who the tournament’s most successful corner takers and free kick takers are so far.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

Going into tonight’s quarter-final Milanista topped the FFScout official Uefa Euro 2016 game. Meanwhile, in the FFScout moderators and contributors league Greenwindmill continues to lead, closely followed by Andy85wsm.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round Ups please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head to head competition, at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Would you genuinely bank Hazard's points as captain?

I have Neuer, Hector, Giaccherini and Gomez tomorrow. I just don't have a clue how this game will go. Needing a Germany win to preserve the core of my team is affecting my choice

Points are hard to come by this round, even though it's dullard, I'd stick with Haz if I were you...

Well, my Bale and Ronaldo captain choices failed. Who should I cap tonight?

    a. Neuer
    b. Hector
    c. Giac
    d. Draxler

Of course if those fail, I always have Payet. Cheers, lads.

Similar options to me. Think Hector/Giacc before Payet

Need Germany to win same as you, but I might go Giaccerini b.c he's the most attacking, I think. Maybe even more than Draxler. I predict 0-0 and Germany on pens. You?

292 points, overall rank 26. Boateng, giacherrini and eder to play today. But with 3 polish and 5 Belgian players I'm already screwed for the semis. Really need an Italy win tonight

    A. Giaccherini
    B. Hector or
    C. Ozil...

Sitting on Ozil but thinking a switch to Giaccherini might be shrewd...

Mid July is the best guess. The Premier League will be relaunching their main site first and FPL will follow.

Feel compelled to make a post after the constant post mortem of the English national team's performance at the Euros.

I have heard a few theories bandied about as to why England have underperformed. The 'system' gets some blame. The 'wash bag' culture amongst over paid young players born with a silver spoon gets some blame.

These Welsh players play in the same era. Same academies, comparable salaries as in they earn a lot of money. The difference between the two which hasn't really been hit on so much is the togetherness of the group. Playing as a team rather than playing for yourself. Ashley Williams scoring a header and running to the bench. Going one nil down and the fans signing louder than at 0-0.

They believe. They work hard. They are humble. They are respectful. They keep it simple. In the end as a team they are greater than the sum total of their parts.

It's not a case of getting a manager in for England and getting the 'system' right. It's about everyone buying into the idea of what you are about doing your best not for you but for your team mates manager and country.

Absolutely this. It comes down to a team culture built on respect for each other and pride in the nation. Its definitely a mind set thing.
