The Community Round-Up

There were mixed fortunes during Double Gameweek 36 for the community, who are now preparing for a second straight round of extra fixtures.

With ten teams playing twice, there are plenty of players for our Hot Topic posters to consider, with differentials a key group in demand to end the campaign with a flourish.

Meanwhile, our community scribes have begun casting their gaze further ahead, with a look at two sides that will be making a return to top-flight action next season.

Our Members tables consider those on the verge of greatness, while our community tournament showcases those who are in pole position to finish 2016/17 on a high.

The Community Articles

The Career Hall of Fame’s number one manager Ville Ronka has had a tough season, and is danger of finishing outside of the top 10,000 for the first time in his illustrious nine-season career. Top Marx‘s latest look at the HoF‘s elite has a special focus on the enigmatic Finnish manager’s latest attempt to claw his way back to the top.

Casper86 is already looking ahead to next season, with his latest article analyses the prospects of the Championship’s two promoted sides, Brighton and Hove Albion and Newcastle United.

Don’t forget, if you’ve got some analysis, scout reports or features brewing, be sure to visit our community section to submit your article.

The Hottest Topics

For some who Wildcarded, a time machine would come in handy to remove poor performers such as Southampton’s misfiring striker Manolo Gabbiadini. For our moderator Spencer, a whole fleet of Tardises is required to correct what may well go down in history as the roughest week a FPL manager has ever had.

His tale of woe, involving forgetting to press his Wildcard button, accidentally taking a 40-point hit and captaining Sunderland’s Victor Anichebe, can be found here.

Spencer will probably not want to read our Gameweek 36 “Rough with the Smooth” round-up, which this week was dominated by successful Wildcarders claiming their bragging rights.

At least our unlucky moderator had Alexis Sanchez’s 14-point Gameweek haul for comfort, thanks largely to a goal and maximum bonus against Southampton on Wednesday.

With the Gunners having two fixtures once again in Gameweek 37, Andy85wsm asked whether the community has changed their mind regarding keeping and captaining the Chilean, who had only scored once in his previous seven run-outs.

Parm was on hand with some further statistics of goalscoring midfielders like the Arsenal star. As well as a strong points return this week, Sanchez also has security of starts on his side for those thinking of handing him the armband.

We canvassed your views on the other players with two fixtures in Gameweek 37 that look assured of starting both matches, including many goalkeepers.

But while stoppers such as Petr Cech and Fraser Forster emerged as double Gameweek heroes this week, with scores of 17 and 16 respectively, still the community seems reluctant to captain a keeper according to our Hot Topic.

In contrast, Chelsea players look the most at risk of rotation during double Gameweek 37, particularly if they wrap up the title during their first match, away at West Brom.

The Real Ron delved into Blues boss Antonio Conte’s history to unearth any team tinkering clues from his three Serie A-winning seasons with Juventus.

HuttonDressedasLahm dropped by later to ponder whether it will be Chelsea’s second Gameweek 37 fixture, at home to Watford, or their season finale against Sunderland at Stamford Bridge, where fringe players are most likely to get the nod.

With their title dreams possibly over before they have even kicked a ball, Spurs players may struggle to find the motivation to perform during their final three matches. Chapelle disagrees with the notion that some players are already on the beach and believes that pride is still enough of an incentive.

Many of our long-standing community members were shocked to discover from Athletico Timbo’s post that the Top 10,000 placings are dominated by those who have never reached these dizzy heights before.

To steal a march on these upstarts, top place veterans will need to muster all their experience to find the best differentials. Yesterday we discussed the best under the radar options for the forthcoming set of games, while Andy85wsm also considered low-owned assets to draft in for the season run-in.

Chelsea Guy‘s top tip is to invest in Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling, who is only owned by one in ten FPL managers.

To view all our discussions, please visit our Hot Topics page. We are also still keen to hear from you about how this can be further developed.

The Members Tables

There are a wealth of differential options on the verge of scoring in my latest goals imminent table, while my assist imminent table showcases those who look set to help them.

If you’re a member and are yet to get to grips with the custom statistics tables, you can view this movie for an explanation of how they work. Also, remember to tag them so that people can find the tables with ease.

The Community Tournaments

George Harper is the new leader of Red Lightning’s Top 10K Any Season, while in his January to May league, Ruth NZ continues at the summit. Ruth has risen from 95,283rd in Gameweek 19 to 721st. However, David Roe’s score of 111 in Gameweek 36 has him level on points to set up a tense finish to this second-half of the season contest.

Over in the FFS Members league, Billy Ketsu, who triple captained Sanchez, has ousted Eirek Jokerud at the top.

It’s all change in the upper echelons of the FFScout main league too, with Mohammad Bahnassy taking first from Mervyn Glasgow. Mohammad is now seventh in the overall rankings.

In TorresMagics Last Man Standing, the safety score was 95, which saw 12 players depart, leaving Ben Radley, Godot, Hakshak and Jeanlou Verny to battle it out in the Gameweek 37 final.

Mark has extended his lead over TorresMagic at the top of the FFScout Moderators and Contributors to 23. Gilles Wanlin has bettered that in my Millionaires Club – his score of 103 means he now has a 26-point lead over second placed Tim Baildam.

If you are running a community tournament and would like the latest scores included in future Community Round-Ups, please email me a brief summary of the current leaders and a link to your league, spreadsheet or head-to-head competition at jonty@fantasyfootballscout.co.uk.

Made my extremely underwhelming sub of PVA to Holding. Currently considering taking a -4 hit but a little burning feeling inside is stopping me from doing so. Just to paint the picture so you guys of wisdom can have a view, this is my team:

    Foster
    Stones - Davies - Holding
    Alexis - Hazard - Alli - King
    Lukaku - Jesus (C) - Gab

    Bench: Randolph, Davies, Holgate, Pieters.

Second in my mini league, 17 points behind top. I know he's taken a 4 point hit, I also know he will likely (C) Alexis.

So, the three hit options I was considering were:
    A) Lukaku to Kane
    B) King to Stirling
    C) Foster to big Willy C

Now, Lukaku has potential to score 2 or 3 tonight, Watford are woeful away from home. Kane has two tougher fixtures but and would have a goal handicap with the -4 already, so I am not convinced he'll outscore Lukaku. Kane does have a better GW 38 fixture though.

Almost as option A, King can score a couple. Stirling is hit and miss for me. Also a rotation risk.

Option C is a funny one, A and B are getting in double GW players for the two single game players I have. However, I look at Fosters fixtures and even though he plays twice, I'd rather not have him. Kompany is back, City look tighter at the back and there is real potential for two clean sheets for City.

Or do I just stick? Is there a blatant sub I'm missing? This is make or break for the season for me and I appreciate your feedback in advance. I've also just nailed a flat white which is why I am babbling.

After all your kind feedback today and from what I got from these articles, the below is my final lineup:
I am on BB and just had to take a -16 point hit just because I am chasing heavily to the leader.

    Caballero,
    Davies,Yoshida,Mustafi, Alonso
    Hazard, Sane, Alli, Jwp
    Jesus(c), Vardy
    Bench: Jaku, Gabbi, Jagielka, King
    1.2M ITB

Am I gtg or for shall I take a total of -20 point to also get Xhaka in for JWP ? or am I going bonkers now !! I just really need to claw 75pts against leader without BB !
