The ScoutCast – Episode 158 – Foxy

It’s not often that we get to spend a good portion of the ScoutCast discussing Leicester City’s rich array of Fantasy talent.

That’s how this week’s episode pans out, as Luke aka “D1sable” does his George Boyd act to come off the bench and join myself, Granville and Jonty to analyse the impending double Gameweek.

We tackle the usual ScoutCast regulars, whilst deflecting the latest round of questions from the community, assessing the great Foxes hunt, the Hazard versus Sterling gamble and even how we can possibly eek out a valid target amongst the Hull City squad. Meanwhile, Granville is dreaming of a three-digit points bonanza as he joins the world’s number one in activating his belated FPL Wildcard.

This week’s episode was beamed out live on Monday evening via Google Hangouts. You can catch the full fat version via the player below.

For those who prefer a more refined, fine dining version, you’ll need to click this link or use the smaller player below for the edited MP3 audio.

Be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel and Google Plus page to keep informed of when future ScoutCast hit the screen.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Hey good people

WC Team, I would love some advice.

    Hamer Krul
    Skrtel Schlupp Ivanovic Shackell Bellerin
    Boyd Hazard Sterling Fabregas Sanchez
    Austin Rooney Kane

    Thoughts?

I think I could leave Krul in goals for every remaining game, and hopefully he would pick up save points or cleans.
Skrtel and Ivanovic are the big budget at the back and the others have the good fixtures
Hazard Sterling Fabregas and Sanchez is hard to argue with and a cheaper 4.6 mid in Boyd. Any better options?

Austin and Kane for this week anyway, maybe move kane out next week.

Im not sure about rooney, but feel united are in good form and he is the only player really worth having but can he score from deep A toughie.

    Help much appreciated ,as always.

Get a backup keeper for Courtois or go Mignolet instead with Azpil over Moreno. I fancy Cech to get a game or two once cheese gave league wrapped up.

Nice. Bellerin is probably a bit risky and not the best use of an Arsenal slot with the double in mind. Other than that, Gilks to Myhill if you want to stay cheap and whichever striker you bench to Giroud to save you a transfer next week.

Why pantillimon, his fixtures are pretty kak? Why not Krul

Back line is solid, mcshane is horrible

Liverpool fixtures are nice but i think only two needed not three.

      Front line is great.

McShane is ok for GW 36

Do you think this team is better?

        SHCMEICHEL (Pantilimion)
TERRY - Smaling - SKRTEL (PvA, McShane)
        HAZARD (c) - COUTINHO - STERLING - CAMBIASSO - FABREGAS

Can I stop tinkering yet? WC Team.

    K.Davis
    Ivanovic | Skrtel | Morgan
    Hazard | Fabregas | Sterling | Henderson | Cambiasso
    Aguero | Vardy

    Myhill Giroud PVA Duff

2.2 in the bank for Fabs & Sterling > Sanchez & Ramsey.

Main decision is Ramsey or Ospina for the 3rd Arsenal spot.

I'm going with Ospina, simply because I would rather have 1 defender, 1 mid, 1 striker for the DGW rather then 2 mids, 1 striker.

            Just for balance then?

My drafts had always had Ospina in until today. I think their fixtures are brilliant for cleansheets but the risk/reward for Ramsey is appealing. Prob gonna be my last decision.

SCOUT PICKS CHALLENGE - GAMEWEEK 33 RESULTS

Should have been posted earlier - admittedly been a bit lazy, apologies!

Now, for the results, and a bit of bad news comes with them...

    1st - FFS Scout (56pts)
    2nd - Lionel's Messy Boxers (52pts)
    3rd - Krzys & Van Gaallelujah (48pts)

with a lot of names scoring similar points all below - it was a tight gameweek. This is where the Scouts' advantage really begins to show - so don't be too disheartened!

No bonus this gameweek of course.

Again, no movement at the top (apart from the Scouts opening a difficult margin on Mookie!) but once again Sticky Mockwell better watch his back as Krzys has climbed closer. The final three are...

    1st - FFS Scout (22pts)
    2nd - Mookie (16pts)
    3rd - Sticky Mockwell (12pts)

    Onto the next gameweek!

Why is everyone so set on 3 Ars attackers?

Ramsey vs Ospina is the last decision of my WC so I'm just interested.

Fixtures look great for cleanies but I guess the potential is higher with more attackers.

        he's chasing me elle!
cout will have 2 games and it covers his change and qpr next for pool!
thinking silva might be a little subdued or, limited gametime. but need to decide tonight!

I totally read that wrong. In that case I would do it as a blocking tactic and to enable the Giroud transfer. Boring but I guess it helps to consolidate your lead a bit more.

No I don't think so. Silva is a better pick and the hit will negate any advantage from the DGW.

Did you read the whole message?

It allows Murray to Giroud next week. In that context it is certainly a hit worth taking.

I'd far rather be going into next week with Coutinho and Giroud than Silva and Murray, wouldn't you?

I did see that. And I'd suggest finding another way. Silva is a much better prospect than Coutinho and its not worth a hit.

Can you sell Cesc to Ramsey next GW in order to fund Murray to Giroud?

that would be the move yes, for a -4 next week
guess im getting caught up im dgw fever as want 3 pool. could still bring skrtel in for rose instead

Skrtel is a better option because you'd be more likely to keep him for the season. Coutinho probably not.

good point ruth and thanks elle.
i could still get giroud next week but would have to take cesc out too, to get him...so i think its a move that might as well be made now.

Cesc out is a much better way to fund Giroud.

true, but thats a hit next week instead of now and doesnt protect my ml lead should coutinho excel this dgw. next week cout plays qpr, fab palace and silva spurs away...

No it's not. If he takes the hit now he has an additional DGW player and thus an extra scoring game. If he takes it next week he doesn't benefit from that.

Chelsea have a better fixture than City next week as well.

But you are left with Coutinho in your team. Would you rather keep Silva for the season or Coutinho? if you don't want to keep Coutinho then thats another transfer you need to consider.

Barring GW36 Coutinho has good fixtures. But stop insisting on making this a Silva v Coutinho discussion. The comparison we were asked to make was Silva + Murray or Coutinho + Giroud.

    Elliot Schmeichel
    Skrtel Schlupp Ivanovic Shackell Bellerin
    Boyd Hazard Sterling Fabregas Sanchez
    Austin Aguero Vardy

    Thoughts?

Should I have Henderson over Fabregas? Which would allow Austin to Giroud next week?
Should I have Ivanovic over Terry, is he worth the extra cash?
    Is Bellerin nailed on?

Elliot seems like a brave choice..

I think Henderson over fab makes sense if it facilitates the austin to giroud.. that would be crucial. Henderson might be the better pick on paper anyway..

And I don't think Ivan is worth it over Terry.

Can't speak for Bellerin.. I thought it had some lingering ankle injury.. I don't know if that was cleared.

Elliot will just spend the remaining weeks on the bench, im thinking play schmeichel all the way through?

        Cool, henderson it is.

        Terry it is too.

Cash to upgrade Bellerin, hmm il ponder that one some more! 🙂

Yeah Schmeichel all the way could well work. I bet you'll get lots of save points..

I just realised I called Bellerin an it 😯

Silva will surely play this week, right?

A facial injury shouldn't effect him on the pitch and he could just wear the mask that Fabregas is wearing (and Torres last season) for protection.

    Captains poll results shocking.

    Hazard 60+ %
    Sterling 15%

Thought it would be much closer.

Having Sterling as (C) is a big gamble, this is a week where if Hazard goes crazy and Sterling doesn't you could see your self drop substantially in your rank.

    2. ellelelle

It's much easier to confirm (C) on Hazard.. Most of the times I've been burned this season by captains was when I second guessed putting the (C) on Hazard..

Plus there is so little reason for me to put my faith in Sterling. I can't punt on someone I don't believe in!

Maybe Sterling will prove me wrong, but there's just not a clear alternative to Hazard right now..

I'm more likely to lose my mind and go Vardy.. or Henderson..!

Posted this before, thought it could help people with squad decisions:

So, a friend of mine was considering benching one of Giroud or Kane the other day and I came across some interesting stats for Giroud in the "big" games this season. I've organized it as follows:

Game - Minutes Played - Goals - Assists

    EVE (A) - 45 - 1 - 0
    MUN (H) - 14 - 1 - 0
    SOU (H) - 26 - 0 - 0
    LIV (A) - 81 - 1 - 0
    MCI (A) - 90 - 1 - 0
    TOT (A) - 90 - 0 - 1
    EVE (H) - 90 - 1 - 0
    LIV (H) - 90 - 1 - 0

    Missed: MCI (H), TOT (H), CHE (A), SOU (A)

He has scored or assisted in every game except the Southampton (H) one. In that, he only played for 26 minutes.

That is a ridiculously good record for big games.

Thoughts on this please. I hope it looks a bit different to most?

    Courtois
    Schlupp Morgan Skrtel
    Hazard Silva Sterling Fabregas
    Agüero Kane Nugent

    Subs: Green, Bertrand, Fletcher, Yun

    (4.1 in the bank)
