Chelsea’s Joe Cole has announced that he plans to return to action for Chelsea in time for their Champions League Quarter Final with Valencia next month. Cole has been out for the majority of the season with a stress fracture of the foot and surgery was carried out to rectify the injury. It was thought that Cole would be out for the season but Cole has told Mourinho that he intends to be back to face Valencia in April.

Even Cole doesn’t make the 2-legged tie with Valencia, it could be that he returns in time to face Man Utd on April 15. However, if either Chelsea or United reach the last 4 of the Champions League, this match will be rescheduled. Chelsea’s following game in April is against Newcastle, which would seem a more realistic target for Cole’s return.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
