Pardew will have a whole host of players back from injury for Saturday’s game against Newcastle. First up, midfield trickster, Andy Reid is back to full fitness after being out with a hamstring since January. Hreidarsson meanwhile, returned for the reserves on Monday while Bougherra, Thatcher and Marcus Bent are also, all in contention for places [source].
It’s the return of Reid which is perhaps most eye catching for Fantasy Managers. Before his injury he had emerged as a decent budget buy in midfield and certainly around Xmas, he was central to everything Charlton produced going forward, which wasn’t a lot admitedly. However, Reid has had few opportunities to line up in the same side as Darren Bent and both players could certainly benefit from each others return to fitness when it comes to Fantasy points. Reid is certainly worth monitoring in the next few weeks as Charlton have 4 of the next 6 at home. However he faces a fight for a place back in the side. He seems unlikely to displace Holland and Song in the centre and Thomas has done well of late on the left of midfield. Reid is likely to start his comeback on the bench on Saturday.
