Aaron Lennon is the latest player to trouble the Spurs physio with an injury that looks likely to keep him out of contention throughout August. The England man has a knee problem which was operated on during the summer but his recovery will see him out for the season kick-off. It’s the latest in a line of injury setbacks for Lennon which has more than likely convinced every Fantasy Manager to avoid him, despite his obvious talent and points potential when fit.
Jol apparently hopes to have Lennon back available by the end of the month. Spurs look set to turn to Malbranque, Routledge or Taarbat to fill the void in Lennon’s absence. The news follows setbacks for Ledley King and Anthony Gardner, while Gareth Bale is also looking unlikely to figure on August 11, having missed most of the pre-season with a thigh injury suffered early in pre-season.
