News filtering through from the Community Shield circus is suggesting that John Terry, absent from today’s game, has damaged medial ligaments in his knee in training and is likely to be out for 4-weeks. Shocking news for Chelsea and Fantasy Managers alike if that’s confirmed. There’s no definite news of this right now other than a story on the BBC’s coverage of the game.
The teams for todays game show Chelsea without Drogba and indeed, any recognised striker. Malouda will presumably pushed forward as a three-man attack with Wright-Phillips and Cole. Most odd. Still no confirmation on Terry but lets hope Drogba hasn’t suffered a similar training ground injury. United meanwhile look to be pushing Evra into midfield with Silvestre playing left-back. The rest of their lineup is pretty much as expected.
Chelsea Lineup: Cech, Johnson, A Cole, Ben Haim, Carvalho, Essien, Mikel, Lampard, J Cole, Malouda, Wright-Phillips.
Man United Lineup: Van der Sar, Evra, Ferdinand, Vidic, Brown, Carrick, O’Shea, Silvestre, Ronaldo, Rooney, Giggs.
