Blackburn Rovers have lost Andre Ooijer for at least 4-5 weeks with a hamstring injury [source]. The Dutchman sustained the injury in the defeat to West Ham last weekend and scans have revealed a significant tear to the hamstring.
Ooijer’s setback coincides with the return of skipper Ryan Nelson from suspension but his absence offers Hughes fewer options which will influence the Rovers lineup over Christmas. Mark Hughes had employed Ooijer at right-back, shifting Emerton into midfied. With that option removed it’s now more likely that Gamst-Pedersen and even Reid wil get starts over the next half a dozen games.
