The early optimism over John Terry’s injury was misplaced at it was revealed today that the Chelsea skipper has fractured three bones in his right foot, including his third metatarsal [source]. The injury will sideline Terry for six weeks.

Initial scans didn’t reveal the break as reported yesterday, however todays more thorough scans and examination today showed the true severity of the injury suffered in the clash with Arsenal’s Eboue.

Terry is now likely to be sidelined until early February. His absence should mean that Alex will keep a regular place in the Chelsea lineup, despite the imminent return of Carvalho from a back injury.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
