Petr Cech is set to be back in the Chelsea goal for the weekend clash with Spurs [source].
The Chelsea number one has returned to full training and seems set to earn an instant recall to the side given Hilario’s slip against Everton in the midweek Carling Cup tie.
Cech has missed the last four matches with a hip injury suffered in the Premiership clash with Blackburn on December 23. He did return just three days after injury but was sidelined following that game, clearly still suffering from the knock.
His return to the side is sure to reinforce Chelsea’s defence that has kept eleven Premiership clean sheets thus far. The Chelsea back four is well worth a look then, despite the absence of midfield protectors Essien and Mikel as a result of the African Cup of Nations. Alex and Carvalho remain the prime targets in the absence of Terry, with doubt still hanging over Grant’s preferred choices in the full-back positions.
