Arsenal are facing a mini injury crisis for the trip to Wigan this weekend after both Diaby and Walcott were ruled out with knocks. Diaby picked up a calf injury in the win over Milan on Tuesday, while Walcott suffered a damaged thigh in a behind-closed-doors match on Thursday.

Van Persie played an hour of that game but isn’t ready for a first-team return according to Wenger. He may have little option though, with Rosicky still reportedly out for another 10-12 days and Song and Toure also unlikely to make a return this weekend.

Eboue is still ruled out through suspension so the likes of Gilberto and Denilson could figure in some capacity at the JJB while Bendtner looks odds on to start.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
