Gary Neville has admitted that he may not make an appearance for United’s first eleven until next season. The United skipper has turned out three times in the last few weeks for the reserves but still admits he is not yet sharp enough for a Premiership return. However, with United still fighting off Chelsea for the title and a Champions League Quarter-Final with Roma lying in wait next week, opportunities for a return look scarce.

“Hopefully I’ll get a game somewhere but that could prove difficult with the significance of the matches we have over the next few weeks. I just have to hope and pray that I get my chance at some point,” remarked Neville on the official site today.

Neville’s potential for a return is not helped by the form of Wes Brown who scored his first Premiership goal of the season against Liverpool on Sunday. Brown has offered superb value for fantasy managers in Neville’s absence and this trend seems set to continue based on Neville’s comments today.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
