The Premiership’s most famous physio checked out of the Emirates to take up his full-time appointment with England this week, but left with good news on the fitness of both Edurado and Rosicky.

Eduardo is recovering from a fractured left fibula suffered against Birmingham in February. It is widely thought that the Croatian striker will struggle to make a return in 2008, however Lewin appears to be confident that player will start his quest for fitness in Arsenal’s pre-season after undergoing a course of intensive rehabilitation in his native Brazil in recent months.

“Hopefully, he will be back doing training during pre-season….We’re setting no timescales. We don’t want to put him under any pressure,” remarked Lewin.

As for Tomas Rosicky – he was forced out of Euro 2008 by a knee injury. The end of season surgery has been a success and he looks set to make a full return and be “flying” for pre-season according to Lewin. While Eduardo is unlikely to come into the thoughts of fantasy managers until the New Year, Rosicky could well prove a temptation as I indicated in my recent review of the season. Six goals in just 15 starts last season was a decent return and perhaps indication that next season the midfielder could well deliver on his undoubted potential.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
