Everton have allayed any fears surrounding Mikel Arteta’s injury sustained against Forest on Friday evening.

The midfielder suffered a knock and was subbed after half-an-hour of that game, however it’s been revealed the injury is minor and that Arteta will be joining the Everton squad on their US tour. The Everton physio, Mick Rathbone, also revealed that he expected Leon Osman to make a return over Everton’s three remaining friendly matches.

The news is not so good for Andy van der Meyde. He suffered a hamstring injury in the same game after just 16 minutes and will sit out the pre-season tour.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
