Noe Pamarot faces “a while” on the sidelines according to Harry Redknapp after suffering a thigh injury against United in last night’s pre-season game in Nigeria.

There is no confirmation on the length of absence for the Portsmouth defender as yet, however with Harry emphasising the need for more cover at the back, it would appear that Pamarot is a major doubt for the season kick-off on August 16.

Such an absence for Pamarot would seem to assure Distin and Hreidarsson of starts at the start of the season despite the pair being rotated during pre-season so far. However, having returned to fitness, Primus is another option that Redknapp could explore.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
