Wigan’s Chris Kirkland is suffering from further back problems according to his boss, Steve Bruce.

Kirkland sat out of Wigan’s victory over Sheffield Wednesday at the weekend with Nash taking his place in goal. According to Bruce Wigan’s number one has suffered a flare up of his old back complaint that trouble d him in his first season at the JJB, whilst on Wigan’s training tour of Austria. It’s not clear just how serious the issue is, however after an relatively injury-free season last time out, we have to hope that this is a minor complaint and that Kirkland will be fit for another 36+ game season.

Kirkland is currently a popular low-to-mid price goalkeeping option, ranked 7th in the Fantasy Premier League with 12% of managers investing.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
