Craig Bellamy could face another spell on the sidelines after sustaining a possible hamstring injury in tonight’s friendly with Ipswich.
Bellamy pulled up in the 24th minute of the game and was immediately replaced by Zavon Hines.
The Welshman had earlier given West Ham the lead with a 20-yard chip from a Lucas Neill pass. The striker has been in decent form in pre-season, hitting four goals before tonight.
He was shaping up to be a decent low-to-mid price striking option, particularly with West Ham’s early season fixtures. Tonight’s injury may have taken the shine off that.
One consolation for the Hammers and possibly fantasy managers, is that Bellamy’s striker partner, Dean Ashton fired a hat-trick in a 5-3 victory.
