Fernando Torres was the latest big name fantasy player to hand us a scare after limping out of today’s clash with Villa with a hamstring injury.

Torres was replaced on 27 minutes after suffering a twinge chasing a Mascherano pass. It didn’t appear to a major injury – more a strain than a tear but the striker will now undergo a scan on Monday to assess the damage.

“We don’t know how long Torres will be out for yet,” remarked Rafa after the game. “We’ll have to wait for the results of the scan on Monday. It could be he is out for seven to ten days, but until he has the scan we won’t know.”

Like Van Persie, Torres will have the international break to recover before Liverpool next take the field against United but it’s another worry for thousands of fantasy managers to mull over on their week off.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
