Tim Cahill is back in full training with Everton after being sidelined for five months following surgery on a metatarsal injury.

The midfielder has received the green light from his surgeon and has joined his Everton team mates in training over the last few days.

It’s hard to say when Cahill will return to first team action. Everton won’t want to rush him back but with the Liverpool game looming at the end of the month, that would seem the most likely target return date. His availability will of course allow Moyes to maintain his favoured 4-5-1 formation, although with Louis Saha available, the Everton boss does have options.

Talking of Saha, club physio, Mick Rathbone, also offered a report on the former United man and estimates that the striker will be available to Moyes by the end of September. He is currently nursing a few niggles in his calf apparently.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
