Felipe Scolari has sweetened the bitter pill of the Essien injury with news that Didier Drogba may play some part in Chelsea’s tricky trip to Eastlands this coming weekend.
The striker has been sidelined with a knee injury but has been making significant progress. So much so that the Chelsea boss expects to be able to call on him for at least part of the game against Man City this weekend.
‘He [Drogba] is not completely ready for the game against Manchester City, but in my idea he may be possible to play 45 minutes,” proclaimed Scolari today.
The Chelsea boss also indicated that Mikel was ready for a return, claiming that the midfield was in “very good condition” following a leg injury. He is set to be restored to the Chelsea midfield, possibly alongside Belletti, with Ballack also a doubt for the City game.
