In the latest twist in a “will he, won’t he” fitness race, Fernando Torres is apparently on target to return for the United game according to the latest reports.
The Liverpool striker suffered a torn hamstring against Villa on August 31st and was said to be out for “between two and three weeks” as a result. According to this report however, Liverpool medical staff are getting more and more optimistic that Rafa will have the striker available to him at the weekend.
That would be a massive boost for Benitez who is already set to go into that game without Gerrard who is still recovering from a groin op.
