Vincent Kompany is fit and returns to the City squad for Thursday night’s UEFA Cup tie with Omonia.

The defender, currently employed in a holding midfield role by Mark Hughes, limped off in Sunday’s defeat at Wigan after dragging his side back into the game with a first half goal. As a result of his current role, Kompany is a prime fantasy target with potential for clean sheets in addition to the odd assist and goal in an attacking City lineup.

In other City team news, Michael Johnson remains absent from the squad as he continues to be hampered by a pelvic injury. Martin Petrov meanwhile, is close to full fitness and could be in contention against Liverpool this weekend. His return would certainly give Hughes some interesting team selection issues and present us fantasy managers with another option when it comes to City’s attacking points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
