Robin Van Persie’s fragile limbs have struck again – this time it’s a hamstring injury that’s ruled him out of Holland’s World Cup Qualifier with Iceland on Saturday.

The Gunners striker is also a doubt for Wednesday’s game with Norway and therefore has to be touch-and-go for Arsenal’s clash with Everton on Saturday. Should the Dutchman fail to make it, the door would be open for Bendtner to make his third Premiership start of the season.

I’ll monitor the injury next week of course and let you know the latest. If RVP looks shaky then Bendtner could well be a worthy short-term purchase given his current price across the games and of course, Everton’s defensive record thus far.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
