There’s more good news for fantasy managers on the injury front, with Petr Cech revealing that he is hopeful of making a return to action prior to the Liverpool game this weekend. Surprisingly, Didier Drogba is also targeting the big clash for his return.
Cech missed out on Chelsea’s weekend stroll around the Riverside pitch with a thigh injury – although, to be honest, he could have got through the game in a deckchair the way things turned out.
He is hopeful of a return for the Champions League clash with Roma on Wednesday and even if he fails to make that, he’s looking in good shape for Sunday’s game…
‘The doctors will decide, naturally, but I am hopeful, my state of health has improved,’ remarked Cech.
Drogba’s progress is a bigger surprise. It was originally feared that he would be out until mid-November with his knee ligament injury but he is reportedly on target for a return, most likely to the bench, for Sunday.
