Amr Zaki has been ruled out of Wigan’s weekend clash with West Brom. While there are no confirmed reports on the Latics official site, Bruce has confirmed that the Egyptian looks very unlikely to make a return in a report in the Wigan Evening Post.

Zaki has been the sold on by thousands of fantasy managers in recent weeks following a decline in form and these niggling injury concerns. That trend is now surely set to continue over the next 48 hours, as we gear up for the weekend…

It’s not yet clear just how serious Zaki’s injury concerns are. There is some confusion over the nature of the problem, although it is widely accepted that the striker is still suffering from calf problems after an injury earlier in the season. Certainly the quotes by Bruce today, appear to back that up…

“We’re hoping Zaki won’t be out for too long but we don’t think he’ll make this weekend”, commented Bruce.

“He’s been playing with the injury for a while and we want him fit for the busy winter months.”

Expect a further Zaki price drop in the Fantasy Premier League then, with interest in strikers such as Bent, Cisse and Fulham’s Johnson. Henri Camara could also subject to some short-term attention as he steps into the breach against West Brom having hit the winner against Everton on Monday.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
