Harry Redknapp is set to go into the Christmas period with further injury concerns, as Woodgate and Jenas sustained injuries at the weekend that reportedly threaten their participation in Spurs’ festive programme….

Woodgate suffered a back injury that saw him omitted to hospital on Saturday evening. Although the injury is not a serious setback, he will sit out Thursday’s UEFA Cup tie with Spartak and will have to be nursed through the busy Christmas programme. That’s a major concern for Redknapp who is already having to use Ledley King sparingly due to his ongoing knee condition. Dawson and Hudlestone are likely to be called up on Thursday and over the next few weeks.

Jenas meanwhile has suffered a calf injury that will see him sidelined for at least a fortnight. O’Hara is likely to benefit from the absence of Jenas and he could now be worthy of consideration as a short-term budget signing. When he plays, O’Hara tends to get involved and gets amongst the points.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
