You may have noticed some subtle changes on the front page that I’ve rolled out late this evening – the most notable of these being a new section – Scout Reports.

This new section allows me to bring you some smaller bites of news with the headlines linking to sources on the web. The section also gives you the option to contribute your own reports via the form in the middle column. You can read more on how this works on this page or read on for a basic summary…

I’ve noticed that links to stories are getting post in the comments section but these are often hard for other folk to find. The Scout Reports now allow you to share a link with all visitors to the site. In a nutshell, if you see a link to an injury or a slice of news that is relevant, you can now use the “Add Scout Report Form” to submit the link.

Press the submit button and your report will be sent to me for moderation and edits if required. Once approved it will be shared with others on the frontpage. There’s also a page here that collects the most recent reports.

As I say, I’ll be using this new section myself, so it will be regularly updated with the latest snippets. However, if you feel you’ve got something relevant to contribute then by all means fire it over.

This feature is in “beta” so we’ll see how it goes. If it works out then hopefully I’ll be able to refine it over time.

There’s a full FAQ on how this works here.

In addition to the Scout Reports, Recent Comments has shifted to a permanent spot on all pages in the right menubar. In the next few days I’ll also be working on a new format for the monthly picks. I’ll keep you posted.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
