Arsenal have handed us snippet of information on Kolo Toure’s calf injury, sustained in last night’s 3-1 win over West Brom.

The centre-back played a leading role in the win, scoring one and earning the assist for Bendtner’s second goal. He was then subbed at half-time with the calf problem. He is apparently due to be assessed later today and we will likely get a report on his status tomorrow, as Wenger warms us up the FA Cup tie with Burnley.

Toure’s prognosis will be significant for fantasy managers. A decent term of absence would leave the door open for Djourou to earn starts and he would then become a precious budget commodity in what has been one of the tightest defences around of late (1 goal conceded in the last 5 league games). Djourou starts over the next four gamweeks (BLA new MCY wig) would certainly do nicely, although we’d have to consider just how Toure’s absence would influence the likelihood of further clean sheets.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
