Craig Bellamy looks set to make an early return from injury for Man City at the weekend, according to Mark Hughes.
The striker was set to be in the squad for the second-leg tie with AB Aalborg and although he hasn’t travelled with the squad, he is destined to return for City’s home fixture with Sunderland this weekend…
“It is probably a bit soon for this week, but we will definitely look to have him involved at the weekend against Sunderland,” remarked the City boss.
Bellamy has been out for three weeks with a knee injury and has missed the last two league games against Villa and Chelsea. He was thought to be sidelined until mid-April. He will now return to our radars and present another excellent low-to-mid price option up front…
Before his injury Bellamy had scored 6 goals in 10 league starts. He quickly became an attractive option for fantasy managers which saw his price rise rapidly in the Fantasy Premier League game, from 6.4 to 7.0 in a matter of weeks.
The striker has now dropped in value to 6.7 and at that price represents an excellent value alternative for those managers who have grown impatient with the likes of Van Persie, Berbatov and Robinho.
City have an attractive fixture this gameweek with Sunderland visiting fortress Eastlands. That’s followed by tougher fixtures against Arsenal at the Emirates but City then enter a sequence of three home games in four with Fulham, West Brom and Blackburn. Bellamy looks a very strong option, although there’s an element of risk involved in investing early before he has completed 90 minutes.
