Liverpool will be without Steven Gerrard against Arsenal on Tuesday and the Tri-Force midfielder is also looking a major doubt for next weekend’s trip to Hull.

According to reports breaking in Saturday’s press, the Liverpool skipper had a scan on Friday evening which revealed further damage to his adductor muscle. The setback is said to sideline him for “between seven and 10 days”, according to a Liverpool spokesman.

The injury is yet to be confirmed on Liverpool’s official site but the news is official enough. His fantasy owners must surely now be considering shipping him out for this and the following gamweek, having already swallowed his absence for last weekend’s 4-0 win over Blackburn. A straight swap for Kuyt, who will now surely adopt a central role up with Torres is one option. Arsenal’s Fabregas is another, while plenty will now be considering double fixture Kranjcar, with the extra funds spent elsewhere.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
