Some further details on Niko Kranjcar’s ankle ligament injury have emerged from the club and the signs are that the midfielder’s injury is not as serious as first anticipated.
According to club officials, Kranjcar walked from the ground without crutches and he will now undergo scans on Monday to assess the full extent of the damage.
“His ankle’s a little bit swollen and it looks like he’s got some ligament damage but we won’t know the degree of that damage until Monday,” confirmed Paul Hart.
Kranjcar seems very unlikely to take the field at Old Trafford on Wednesday and will also be a doubt for next Monday’s trip to Newcastle.
