James Beattie will miss Stoke’s trip to Fulham this weekend. The striker has a thigh injury. He will join Higginbotham on the sidelines for this game – he is out with a back injury.
This is big news for fantasy managers. Beattie has been a massive success at the Britannia and has attracted huge interest as as a bugdget purchase up front. There’s no word on the extent of the injury as yet.
His absence this weekend will likely see an opportunity for either Camara or Creswell to start up front for Stoke. As for us fantasy managers, Bolton’s Kevin Davies, Villa’s Carew, the Sunderland pairing of Jones and Cisse and perhaps even Newcastle’s Martins, all come into consideration as short-term replacements.
