Cesc Fabregas remains a major doubt for Arsenal’s clash with United this weekend. The midfielder is out of Arsenal’s squad for tomorrow night’s Champions League qualifier with Celtic and Wenger doesn’t sound too hopeful of his chances for Old Trafford following a scan on his hamstring injury…

“His scan was quite reassuring as he has no muscular strain but it will take a few days to settle down….There’s a chance he’ll be fit for Old Trafford.”

Aaron Ramsey will apparently fill his boots against Cel and could even be in contention for a start against United. However, a recall for Song, alongside Denilson and Diaby looks more likely when it comes to that game. We’ll have a better indication on Fabregas’ chances by Thursday, when Wenger normally goes on record with his team news ahead of the weekend.

On the plus side, Wenger’s words do indicate that Fabregas should make a return after the international break next weekend, in time for Arsenal’s visit to Man City.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.
