Tottenham’s Sebastien Bassong has emerged as a doubt for the weekend clash with United after susutaining an injury on his internatonal debut for Camerooon.
The defender was forced off after 24 minutes of Cameroon’s 2-0 win over Gabon. Details of the problem are currently few and far between right now but it is thought that Bassong is set to be ruled out of Wednesday’s follow-up fixture with Gabon. He is therefore an early concern for the weekend.
This would pose a major problem for Harry Redknapp who is already without Dawson and Woodgate to injury, while he also lost Ledley King after 45 minutes against Birmingham last weekend. A Huddlestone/Corluka partnership in central defence against United could therefore be his only option.
