Wow, what a mess to walk in to this evening. Looking over at the results from the games earlier today I bet many fantasy managers will be left scratching their heads. Let’s break up the comments a bit as we have one more match to digest before this day is over…

Aston Villa fail to keep a clean sheet at Wolves, which many people were predicting (not myself, I had Doyle and felt he would score – no such luck). Hull and Portsmouth rode out a (presumed to be) boring goalless draw at the KC stadium (a couple of clean sheets though I guess). Birmingham beat Sunderland 2-1 and Darren Bent finally manages to not score in a game – just after my colleagues Granville and Mark decide to buy him, you guys really are cursed with him, so as a long time Bent owner thanks very much. Burnley have lost their first game at home in 10 matches and Brian Jensen had to leave the pitch after picking up a surprising knock apparently falling in a heap on the pitch gifting Hugo Rodallega his first of two goals – I didn’t see it, but does anyone remember the days of Paolo Di Canio and very sporting gestures?

I guess the biggest surprise is that Spurs lost 1-0 at home to Stoke, despite Thomas Sorensen falling foul of illness just prior to kick-off that didn’t seem to disrupt them too much, as by all accounts Steve Simonsen played out of his skin.

Anyway, I digress far too much – Chelsea are about to play host to Blackburn this evening and Ashley Cole sits out with a knee injury while Joe Cole makes his first Premier League start of the season. Both David Dunn & Christopher Samba are also missing from the Blackburn XI having apparently picked up a virus. If you’re around and fancy a bit of live interactivity head on over to the Scout chat room where I’ve just joined for a bit of evening banter.
